Dreamed about campaigns around the history of Mongol Empire, Song dynasty, Jin dynasty, and Western Xia dynasty, all happened in that time period, everything connected way back to OG Genghis Khan champaign, but nope.

Three Kingdoms civs themselves feels like Chronicles treatment within Chronicles. I don’t think they should be in ranked even. With heroes and quirky mechanics tbh. Khitan, Jurchens is ok.

well, what can I say? The units and mechaisms seems fun and pricing is reasonable. But the 3k civs content itself is weird and confusing.

Honestly a little bit of me can get why they decided to do umbrella civ, given how thoroughly the Mongols wiped out the Tanguts, but still, not a fan.

Edit: I misread. It seems it has. Still disappointing since nothing much new for Medieval era.
Edit 2: Even so, we really need something for Middle Age China. A proper Korean, Chinese and some form of continuation to Mongol saga. Which is still unfinished.

I’d be happy if Khitans & Jurchens stayed in aoe2 and they moved Shu, Wei and Wu to Chronicles.
Of course it is still infinitely worse than Khitans, Jurchens, Tibetans, Tanguts and Bais, but it’s infinitely better than 3 Kingdoms garbage in aoe2.

Its not even Chronicles. Rather Three Kingdom civs being Three Kingdom civs. I still think with that mindset in mind, Chronicles should be in AOE2 timeframe which Three Kingdom civs itself weird enough to avoid ranked. Almost as gimmicky as Chronicles but with even worse civ bonus.
Fire Archer unit feels very traumatic to deal with
Oh my God, how did you guys even come up with using the Three Kingdoms as a new civilization? Not only does this completely turn Age of Empires II into some chaotic time-warping free-for-all (Rome was already a bad precedent), but you chose the most overused Three Kingdoms setting! There are already way too many Three Kingdoms games! What about Jurchen and Khitan campaigns? Completely abandoned?

What is going to happen is if everyone is mad they’ll remove the three kingdoms civ and just add those 2, and they’ll probably later make another 3 civs the people is asking for and give them for free to people that buy the dlc. Chronicles Civilizations have so much potential though, there’s a lot of civilizations to cover
I hope they do that honestly.
