As we all know, the developers currently are focusing their interest on other areas than Europe for new DLCs. But if they return to Europe, maybe “Habsburg” can be an option for introducing.
On the one hand for historical reasons, as you stated out, the non introduction in “The Conqueros”.
For the other side, they represent a link between the Western part of the Holy Roman Empire and the Eastern European civs in the game, such as the Hungarians. They are also occasionally mentioned as opponents in their campaigns.
I hope they never add a civ named after a town in Switzerland to represent Austria
Unique units will be called Townian Knight, Townian Crossbowman, Townian Militia.
We gotta have to wait for the fall of the Communist Party in China before we can get them in AoE2 I guess.

Habsburgs are family not a civilisation. Also they ruled the Spanish which are already in the game.
Austrians make little sense for a Medieval game anyway. Bavarians would make more sense but still not really.
He is referring to the fact that Habsbug family got their name from a place is Switzerland which they lost to the Swizz pretty early.
I am referring to the fact that it is impossible to even find unique unit names for each of these town civs.
Its called age of chivalry.I would recommend people try out the mod once its updated and less buggy.
Tried that mod once 5 years ago. The game was unidentifiable with all the Jorgito Reskins, units looked mobile game arcady for some reason. AI was hell of a spam fest pumping units that came in a straight line. Castle available one age earlier and all the building recruitment order chamges. Not saying it’s bad but it’s a different game altogether. Didn’t feel like playing an AoE2 mod.
There is a DE port now but buggy.
