"The Last Chieftains" DLC is completely not the one I've expected

Croats were famous for pirates, from the Narentines up until the Uskoks. I could see them being primarily a navy civ.

Bosnians were true nobles, with royal European dynastic connections. They had their own church, the Bosnian Church, which was considered heretical at the time, nevertheless, the kingdom itself was respected by both the Orthodox and Catholic Churches. Bosnia also possessed a strong trading system and maintained extensive relations with other kingdoms.

Serbians were fierce and resilient, militarily among the strongest. They were true patriots and steadfast protectors of their homeland. I can easily see them reflected through strong military bonuses. Also, they had connections with the Byzantine Empire. They were true followers of the Orthodox Church.

Yes, I know about Stefan Dusan, “emperor of the serbs and greeks“.

Are there any indications yet whether the upcoming DLC will include more editor-only objects or units? The animals were already visible in the images…

it showed a european colonial fort, not sure about any others. there are also new tree types (something that looks like a banana or papaya tree)

okay. Thanks. The DLC looks very interesting, although Latin America (like Southeast Asia, for example) isn’t really a cultural area that interests me. So I don’t know yet if I’ll buy the DLC. Maybe later, we’ll see. But I’m always primarily hoping for more editor content that I can use. So I’m still very excited for the DLC.

Things I noticed: Flags/banners, heroes, gunpowder barrels, new Loot variant, South American Burned Building.

I hope they add flags for all the in-game civs…

I hope also with zone attack

And burned buildings for all architecture sets (currently only for Central European, East Asian, and the Chronicles sets).

It’s curious that they use the Cross of Burgundy and also the Spanish flag; they should just choose one and be done with it, although the Cross of Burgundy would be more historically accurate… then the others are the Mapuche and Muisca flags, and the last one at the bottom is the Portuguese flag… and the heroes from left to right are: Lautaro (because he’s on horseback), Quemuenchatocha (because of the black suit, although he could simply be another character from the Mapuche campaign), Galvarino, and Nemequene…

Hopefully…it could be interesting and useful for ambushing enemies…

Yes, it won’t be like in AoE 3, but a flag on the ground near the TC would be nice…

Missed out those heroes. The one on the left is probably Arariboia. And more eye candy.

If I’m not mistaken, there is not a single Militia-line unit among the Native American forces in the screenshots released so far. Crossbowmen, Spearmen, and Skirmishers appear, though. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I spotted a Long Swordsman unit, but it’s on the Portuguese side. Maybe the new regional unit is intended to replace both the Eagle line and the Militia line.

Yes, you’re right… I hadn’t seen it…

Yes, hopefully… I think it’s better and easier than using native reskins from the European militia line…

Both Burgundy and Castile flags were used. And other flags too. Hernán Cortés famously used neither (correction: a banner with Castile arms in the reverse side and Holy Mary on the main side). So more power to them for making both flags.

Yes, that’s true… I hadn’t thought of it that way…
