The Nemean Lion and the Chimera Visual Update?

I think the devs are doing a fantastic job at listening to their fans and delivering their promises. This is something that you don’t often see with other gaming developers much less from those working at a smaller company with less workforce. My hats off to them.

Today, I would like to focus on two and maybe three specific units, the Nemean Lion and the Chimera. And maybe Sphinx. I decided to add the typical lion and the Manticore as “references” or just because lol. I also included three real male lions just to let others know that animals do look different despite being the same species.

I have noticed this for a long time and am posting it now because I believe the developers are looking for more things to refine and make AoM even better. And to me, I think some of the smallest details matter.

If you will notice that these two models look almost exactly the same apart from the colors and of course the other hybrid animals perched on top of the Chimera’s body. Basically, the Nemean Lion and the Chimera’s faces and facial features, their limbs, muscle striations, paws, and even the fur and mane outlines are practically the same!

Maybe the devs can keep one of them the same and change the other’s model. Or change both. I do hope the Nemean Lion gets more of the myth treatment as its background / parents weren’t even lions to begin with iirc. Could make it more wild and powerful looking. Also size difference would be cool, too.

The Sphinx is a bit more different. The face/head is the most obvious bit but also its legs are actually more massive than the Nemean Lion and the Chimera. Looks like somebody has been doing squats! But apart from this I do think the Sphinx’s paws look somewhat identical. Maybe the devs can change the Sphinx’s paws a bit so that they look different.

Overall, the body size between the three remain somewhat the same. Being biased here since I often see the Egyptian myth units to be lacking in the “intimidation” department so I hope the Sphinx gets a “buff” in size and becomes bigger than the Nemean Lion and the Chimera.

You should rename your post in more general way, for MU model update requests! I myself really want a visual update for hydras, they look hideous and silly.

But back to your topic: I’m mostly fine with the Nemean Lion, not sure what they could do for it, it was just a big lion in the myth. The chimera however, I agree, especially considering it’s partially recycled from the Nemean Lion. I would love something more monstrous. (And please buff the chimera it’s so bad compared to other Mythic age MUs…)

Kinda wish we had Lionesses ngl. It’s weird seeing a pride of 3-4 male loins bunched up together.

Prob more of a dynamic that happens since you can have multiple of any MU in aom where it was only 1 in the greek myth and i happened to be male.

Yeah, me too. The Lion is one of multiple wild animals in the franchise where every specimen appears to be male.

I think TuxedoToad was only referring to Mother Nature’s Lions.

I was. The devs took their time to create does and bucks for the deer, so I don’t see why they can’t add lionesses.

i would personally be happy if agile carnivores like nemean lion had their old more agile “jog/trot” back. chimera could be more “grotesque” but i am really happy what the devs did with chimera in retold already also the nemean lion looks great too model wise for me its just the movement (cyclops movement did change a bit too in my opinion but it seems i might be alone with this and it doesn’t other me that much anymore- unlike anubites where it still bothers me xD )
