The old Ensemble Studios website redirects to a AoE3 page

So I occasionally opened the old link of Ensemble Studios website https://ensemblestudios.com/ and had a curious small finding:

This old link redirects you to the currect official AoE website (not surprising). However, instead of redirecting to the main page, it redirects to a sub-page Age of Empires III: Complete Collection - Age of Empires - World's Edge Studio , which states that AoE 3 (2007) would retire in Oct 2024.

What is the meaning of this? Is there any particular reason that it get redirected to this page?

To make sure every player knows aoe 2007 online multiplayer doesnt work anymore, so take DE

Well, World’s Edge shut down the multiplayer capability for Legacy last year around the game’s 19 year anniversary. I think they tried to hide the news with something big about AoMR. At that point they still hadn’t come out with the news that they weren’t moving forward with the DLC for AoE3 DE. They simply “postponed” it around the same time. I do wonder if they already knew they were going to cancel the DLC at that time but decided to fake-postpone it to avoid backlash which could hurt AoMR sales that close to release.
