The problem with new DLC's and how to fix it

Yes, it would have to be like Empire Earth where you go from the Bronze Age to the Dark Age but your AoE 1 military units become more “medievalizated” and so on until you reach the Renaissance which would be the 8th age… then AoE 3 would be 3 ages (Colonial, Imperialist, Industrial) and then AoE 5 would be the last 4 ages (Atomic, Modern, Nano and Space) xd…

Of course I agree…

What? You know the most vocal part of the community are the die hard fans who have been playing this game from 2 decades and they have played all civs many dozens of times. If they don’t cater to these old fans then who should they cater to? Those who buy the game, play a skirmish or two and then uninstall the game?
And by the way civs are not just for playing with, they are also for playing against.

New features = new and more bugs
They should let the game how it is, and open up real lan mode

That’s never gonna happen they don’t want their game to be cracked and used for offline lan.

Imagine a game a mode where you progress from aoe 1 stone age through aoe 2 imperial.

Well, back in HD there was a mod that added a very cool pirate type civ and with that, I think, it added the fifth “Golden Age” to the game. I never got to play it since it never received updates, but I was curious what that would entail
other than balance breaking gameplay, ofc

It’s already available and the Battleservers also has been already cracked/bypassed in the past. See AOE 1 DE and AOE 3 DE.
