The ultimate Persian re-design thread

TBH free parthian tactics is nowhere near as powerful as free thumb ring, and wouldn’t really make much difference at all, since they probably won’t have the CAs to take advantage of it at the right time, anyway.

Random ideas:

  • Bracer added, Crossbow removed and Kamandaran increases Archer range by 1 (To compensate for having less HP).
  • All technologies benefiting Cavalry Archers (from Stable, Archery Range, Blacksmith and University but not Monastery and Castle) research twice as fast.
  • Cavalry Archers +1 range per Age (+1 in Castle and +2 in Imperial) assuming no Bracer.

These are not bad ideas and I don’t hate them.

I actually think this is perfect for Persians, precisely because their monks are otherwise so substandard this will actually give the Persian player a reason to make monks while still not giving them any of the other monk techs. If a more monk-oriented civ had this tech it would be waaaaay too overpowered.

It is unwise to take from a solid civilization to work on another. Yes, I know who the Parthians were.

New idea:
Castle Age UT: Mounted units +2 attack
Blast Furnace removed from Techtree.

This allows Persians to basically get Blast Furnace earlier (besides for their Infantry but that’s bad anyway) but also helps their Cavalry Archers more then their Melee Cavalry.

Well that was interesting, out of all those ideas some variety of these 3 actually did make it into the game although not all for the Persians, the Shrine idea I had was basically the Georgian fortified church and the Avicennian Medicine is basically worked into the Armenian warrior monk who can mass heal units.

Although I have to say I am a little underwhelmed by some of the proposed changes for the Persians…
