Slap in the face.
I don’t even think this is worth 20 characters.

Should have just emailed us the aoe3 info instead of wasting everyone’s time. Not even a release date it’s so shameful. Have the devs even started working on the civs yet because this is the kind of stalling I did back in high school when I didn’t finish my homework. And late 2024 I’ll be playing AOM not Denmark.
I watched the entire thing for no reason.
as someone who mainly plays aoe2 I am extremely disappointed in this stream. aoe2 was promised a campaign-dlc. what we get is 5 new scenarios, and polished versions of a few existing ones from mods (I wonder if they will delete the mods) for an outrageous price.
The entire stream was painfully cringy.
-aoe mobile looks like an awful cash grab that will pull the name of the franchise through the dirt
-aom:retold was a close-up at some mythic units, but nothing of any substance
what a complete waste of time for everyone
Exactly. Some people are saying “respect the devs, at least we’re getting something”, something along those lines.
I get that, I seriously do. They certainly don’t owe us anything. Having a definitive edition for AOE3 with multiple new DLCs is such a blessing already.
What we’re upset about is how this announcement was handled. After hinting that they were going to reveal a new DLC with new civs, everybody was expecting at least a couple screenshots, civ names, or a specific release date in the near future.
But just showing a couple flags and a vague release date (MONTHS down the line) was such a downer.
If they hadn’t announced anything for AOE3 in the Jan 31 post, this could have been seen as a surprise, or kind of a teaser. People would have been much more pleased with the announcement. Instead, now they’re disappointed.
Tbh, the marketing of the franchise overall is kind of underwhelming. They clearly alloted most of their resources to AOMR, so they just wanted to keep the 3 and 4 communities in the loop somehow, but still, this type of communication is pretty inefficient.
35:37 to 36:07 is the only segment of AoE 3, a full 30 seconds out of 2 hours 4 minutes and 50 seconds
So would it be better to not mention it at all?
could have deliver it much better I say
At least we get a dlc. What does aoe4 get? A “buy this dlc more pls”?
They announced they’re working on new civs, and hinted them. How to deliver it better? If they have nothing more to show or say, then there’s nothing more to show or say.
It was a stream about the entire series, and when it comes to 3DE there was nothign more to present.
If they didn’t mention it and instead posted on Twitter on just forums- people would be complaining 3DE wasn’t mentioned.
They only recently got a large dlc so nobody is expecting another 1 soon for aoe4. Aoe3 last got kotm almost 2 years ago now, by the time new dlc will release it will be way over 2 years.
Well it is pretty clear that the dev effort went into aomr, so I’m not too mad about that. Besides, we did get quite high quality patches with lots of changes and reworks in the mean time. I’m quite ok with the content, I’m well aware aoe3 has never performed as well as the others in the franchise.
Also considering all the announcements go far go into late 2024, it means this year no new content for ##### ## maybe a dlc is coming anyways but forgot to announce it? As i said, sloppy marketing.
Why the duck is "aoe 4?"censored? It’s this for real??
It was a very poor event/stream, I’d expect there will be an aoe4 dlc in october or november so it is weird nothing was said especially as it is the game the devs push the most.
I am surprised that AoE II Campaign DLC has no actual campaigns and how little info on AoE III new DLC. Not surprised they didn’t show anything about new civs in AoMR
Yeah. They really need to work on the marketing strategy. I also expect aoe4 to get a dlc in October, that’s the logical thing to do for the newest game of the series, but it may rise some eyebrows that it wasn’t announced.
I’d assume they are delaying the aoe4 dlc which should be released before xmas so it doesn’t clash with the release of age of mythology, they’re not worried as much about aoe3 dlc as it is not as popular I guess.
Tbh they need to get out of the the mindset that advertises only for the current fan base. They should work to increase it, and imo they aren’t doing much on that front, with any of the games. Maybe aoe3 being free to play is their gateway to new players in the franchise, but they aren’t advertising it enough.
This stream is more for advertising of AOE mobile.
The rest are just there to make it feel like a stream for the “whole series” so more people will be tricked into watching it. Including AOMR, otherwise they will pick a time point where AOMR has a lot more to show and take up more screentime.
And there is a small group of people that have been so longing for any news and will definitely watch it, so a 5sec “news” is more than enough.
Well, it certainly is clear why this was scheduled on a Friday.
