I was saying before word’s edge that the being fans of aoe2, have been discriminating against us now. Then this thread got hidden and then there were users who contradicted me and now this update has verified that they have shown what they think and it’s all about their aoe2 and making money for the purpose of leaving us behind .
We don’t hate you (also AoE2 fans) we have different taste and I respect you enjoy to play AoE2. We mean about AoE3DE markets and communication, we who are AoE3 fans always behind, I know it will happen for AoM fans too.
We felt like, WE focus on AoE2DE lot anytime and promotions lot.
We like AoE3 era history. We want to get love too, just like you. Not just a favorite child.
I hope you understand.
I think you’re misinterpreting what I’m saying, I’m a fan of aoe3 as well, what I’m trying to say is that World’s Edge they’re a player’s club of aoe2 for the muddling of the aoe3 update. The post I made earlier was also hidden by the aoe3 forum admins and I’m pretty pissed off about
You forget that World’s Edge main purpose is to manage the franchise. The dev work is handled by other studios such as Forgotten Empires, Tantalus, Relic etc.
The team normally responsible for AoE 3 was/is busy with AoM atm which is why AoE 3 hasn’t received much love and care this year.
I can understand that to a degree, but I’m curious about why they’d announce a DLC for “late 2024,” knowing full well they couldn’t devote the resources and manpower it needed. This DLC felt like a last-minute decision, and the announcement itself was hastily put together, resulting in awkwardness.
Of course, maybe AoMR needed more work than they thought but again, we’re talking February here.
Yep, I agree the entire way the DLC was announced was weird. Showing two flags for 5 seconds and then going radio silent until two weeks ago isn’t really the way how to handle things.
And while we’re on the subject.
The 3DE community isn’t starting riots for no reason. This perceived mismanagement and carelessness has been going on for years now. We all don’t collectively wake up and start ragging on WE at random intervals.
Being the “black sheep” we need to be vocal and we’ve had to fight since the legacy days. WE had a chance to shed that stigma but instead, they doubled down on it.
The distrust we have towards WE is totally on them, and not us. There is a list of grievances that has spanned years.
And now, over the past year or so I’m seeing the same complaints from the AoE2 crowd we’ve been raising so now it’s bleeding over into the the other games as I predicted it would.
Need a visual?
WE: “We care about the game, we’re rooting for 3DE!”
Also WE:
How are we supposed to take this? looks intentional.
