I think a chasqui scout would make a lot of sense and Incas could get a speed boost for them. Though it would be interesting how strong they would be then with double bonus (food discount and faster). But the other civs that get the chasqui could also get some interesting bonusses.
And also agree that Aztecs should get a general Bonus to the Eagle line. They should be THE eagle civ in general, the others could have meaningful bonusses and techs, but Aztecs should be the ones that can make them all game long.
They could add the Chasqui as a scout unit, or else make the Kamayuk a regional unit…
Yes, that’s a good option…
Yes, that makes sense, that’s why I feel the Mapuche are a bit forced in the game, since they didn’t master cavalry until the mid-17th or even 18th century…
Yes, it’s an option…although that would require shifting the game’s timeline by another century…
Yes, but not on a large scale. In 1553, there were only a few small skirmishes since the horse was relatively new to the Mapuche; only after many decades of fighting the Spanish in the Arauco War were they able to learn to ride the horse… something similar happened with the Apaches and the Lakota who learned to use the horse in the 17th century…
I know this is a topic about eagles, but I have to bring this idea, since I’m honestly so eager to see this.
What’s your opinion on Mapuche having Hand Cannoners in imperial age? I mean, I know they’re a native civ, but there is some historical context, and would be an interesting spin, for them being the only civ having that… I love drastic civ designs, especially when a civ is being distinct to others from that region. Plus, from all civs the Mapuche resisted far more and longer than others.
I don’t really see it. Mostly because the unit is so overtly a renaissance European man.
And also, there is a piece of art depicting the Mapuche with cavalry and cannons, so I think that’s going to be the base inspiration for them. So Bombards? I think yes, but Hand Cannoneers probably not.
I don’t see that being an issue for Pikeman, Champions, Long Swordsman, Arbalests are part of non european civs, which are solely based on european designs. If that is what you’re going for.
And light cavalry wasn’t before the introduciton of eagles?
And i can’t really follow that “logic” anyways. Either you want historically accurate game or it’s not important. Otherwise it becomes arbitrary. You can find reasons for and against anything if you want. Be consistant please.
Well, you could also argue about that the champion upgrade shouldn’t be mandatory, especially for civs which realistically seen didn’t even come close to european armor or warfare, yet they have it. For example, Aztecs are one of the best Champion line civs, when historically seen, that isn’t the case.
