If there are going to be Persians in AoE3, considering they’re now releasing DLC for other games too… maybe we’ll have Persians in AoE4 in 2027… Wow.
Persians for AoE4
Now, representing the Persians in AoE4 is going to be complicated if they don’t consider all the great and different dynasties that existed in Persia during the Iranian Intermezzo: Saffarids, Alavids, Samanids, Ziyarids, Buyids, Ghaznavids, Khwarazmian.
When Vikings comes out, I’m going to finish my Persian concept; I’m almost done, but I’m missing the Landmarks and age-up part. I can’t decide, and I think it would be better to know how they’ll do with the Vikings, whose time period (800-1050) is similar to the Iranian Intermezzo (821-1055).
Persians for AoE3
I assume it will cover the Saffavida Period (1501–1736), Afsharid Iran (1736–1796), and the early Qajar Iran period (1789–1925).
It would be the most ironic thing given the current historical evolutions around Persia.
Yes, for me the first 2-3 ages would be Safavid (1501-1736) and the last two (Industrial and Imperial) Qajar (1796-1925)…

Afsharid Dynasty’s strongest hater
Nah, Nader Shah is awesome (he was basically a second “Persian Alexander” who almost conquered India in 1738), but the thing is, his dynasty lasted very little time after his assassination (just like Alexander). But if it weren’t for the Qajars, the Afsharids could easily have lasted until the 20th century (if they had gotten involved in WWI, they would have been swept away by the Entente, and if they hadn’t been overthrown by the Palhavis in the 1920s, the country would have had the Iranian Revolution, but about half a century earlier)…

- Bukhara/Uzbek/Khazak Khanate
Can we forward that to the DEVs? 
In 2008 it would have been an interesting DLC…I would add that I was thinking, what if they put the Persians together with the Georgians as TMR 2.0?..

I had fun playing as the Georgians and Armenians in the Age of the World mod. Their trebuchets were awesome. It might be unbalanced for main civs, but maybe the Livonia revolt could have something like that added in the future.
If they were ever to add them, they ought to have a Trebuchet shipment for Spain. Could have it as an age 2 artillery in the cluv role because the one thing it destroyed is itself, and having a weaker culv in age 2 wouldn’t be all that overpowering other than maybe being able to snipe some Leather Cannons.
