:arrow_forward: GAME INFORMATION

  • GAME BUILD #: Newest Patch
  • GAME PLATFORM: Steam
  • OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 10, 11 and Linux Mint

:arrow_forward: ISSUE EXPERIENCED

The Game now defaults after every restart as well as after leving a ingame session (SP, MP dosent matter) back to main menu to my OS Default Language (Its German btw).
But i play the game in English and always used the ingame language setting for selecting it.
Worked for the past 4 years without issue but now it dosent.

:arrow_forward: REPRODUCTION STEPS

Open the game, select a language thats different from your OS Default Language in the settings.
Close game and open it again.
Game is now not in the selected language but your OS Default.

What ever you guys did with the last patch that seems to tie the game language to the OS settings, revert that please.
I know at least 20 other people with the same issue and unlike most of them i dont want to change my OS language setting just cause AoE2 has bad codeing.

yeah, same thing happens to me when i start the game. its really annoying.

Same here. I have to change to some random language and then back again to english, because my game defaults to polish- my OS language.

Same problem here (German ↔ English).

Same problem here (Polish ↔ English). I mean I wouldn’t mind my native language but the font of the Polish language is quite nasty and is a pain in the eyes. Also due to that I noticed some of the translations are very poor and even google translate would do it better.

I wish we could get a proper translation and a nice PL font but I guess that is out of our reach for now so a simple fix will be more than appreciated.

Same problem here. It automatically changes to spanish from english. I don’t want to play with that poorly done translations to both Spain/Latam spanish (which makes no sense to have different translations to the exact same language to start with)
