I like the idea but you’d need to change tabasco seperatist too since they provide vet salts too and Artego Reform gives the next for free so a lot of possible free vets that could overlap.
as someone who uses this for the range only idk man, the conversion doesn’t cut it imo unless you maybe got all age2 salts that become volts or something but it’s already barely used as a power spike and rather to just get extra range on salts(boring), Bandidos, Mountain Troopers or even Jäger.
There are some native builds with good punch in 1v1 especially with Chimayó that would not care a lot about that change but still a good change
Perhaps have Tabasco Separatist give free CIR. Artego is a lesser issue as you could still get free Vet for Soldados or Insurgents.
My reasoning for using the card is pretty much the same. It would be possible to nerf it exclusively for Salts if necessary. +2 for Rifle Infantry and -1 for Salts would likely be plenty. That would also make the initial Vols a bit better since they would still receive 22 range.
If you’re referring to the “Shipment of natives from every tribe you’re allied with” card, then I don’t believe this will be a massive issue. You’ll still receive the same number of units from the shipment but will just have lower build limits. It’s a fairly modest concession to a fairly niche build.
as I said “would not care a lot” since it’s mostly units from shipments unless going the age3 25% cheaper route in which case it gets nerfed quite a bit but rightfully so.
As long as I keep my 22 range Jäger and 20 Range Bandidos I’m happy XD
20 range is the bare minimum for a skirm to be viable that late lol
That is an entirely different topic but I do agree that TAD civs suffer in terms of native/outlaw merc usage due to no arsenal techs(also including Japan who cant really use Renegados, Jäger etc later on due to no CIR)
The main problem would be Ghurka and Arquebusier getting CIR already so they’d need to make t -1 multi for them so basically two extra versions of CIR
Also that’s not the AR way, that’s the Hausa way - Ethiopia can have CIR Skirms early age2 if they want to.
Maybe make it enable advanced arsenal and reasearch CIR since it’s an age3 card but that may be too much to give them access to the AA techs
Edit: after thinking about it just researching CIR might be the best way and the card ain’t that bad if you use the cons a lot.
I don’t think it could be all of them (mostly scared about Siege Elephants with +15% speed), but all the infantry AA techs, alongside the +6 Artillery LoS and cavalry upgrades would all be fair to throw into the Tower of Victory.
Maybe not all of them. I dont think the cavalry ones for elephants would be a great choice for balance. Maybe one for Natives and Mercenaries to have the same flexibility than europeans.
But they need to not flow the indian deck with more unit upgrades. Indian gunpowdry and CIR from royal green jackets can be turned into upgrades. Then, buff the consulate effect in some way for flavour.
Another tech could be a camel related one, maybe desert terror and another one, they are super weak.
I seriously think that since. People complain about particular features too much on what a civ has that make it overpowered…Why not just buff every civ. Add new features and buffs that allow them to adapt. Of course this will make them overpowered…But now it will be more and more aparent that it becomes skill based now… No will moan about having their main civ be crushed now(Barely) haha.
Just so that the devs can stop with the overeaction of the civs gaining too much popularity where they just find that the only solution is to nerf civs that people find to be on the lead. At least this is just my opinion. Make every civ more powerful! Instead of making one weaker and the other more powerful.
