Now that AoE3 isn’t actively supported anymore I wanted to take a look at the historical battles one more time.
Out of the 22 civs we got in the game you can play as 8 of them, plus 3 civs exclusive to the historical battles. It’s interesting to note none of the warchief civs, asian dynasties civs and knights of the mediterranean civs appear in any capacity.
Other than the 3 exclusive civs we can play with there are also 2 we can play against ( Somalians and the Tartars), for a long time I though some of these could eventually become full civs.
So in the end we ended up with 14 civs that make no appearence in the historical battles, out of these what do you think would be some of the best battles they could’ve had were you’d play as them?

Siege of Zeelandia would be a banger as a chinese historical battle.

Could that include water play?
I mean it took place over Taiwan so… most likely?
And you have:
Spain: Pavia (1525)
Dutch: The one mentioned above
Germany/Sweden: Lutzen (1632)
Ottomans: Chaldiran (1514)
Aztecs: Moctezuma’s Campaign (I’m about to do it)
Incas: Maule River (1485)
Haudenosaunee: Any of the War of 1812 (you can actually play them in the co-op version of Queenston Heights)
Lakota: Grease Grass (1876) (already featured in the Shadow campaign)
Japanese: Shiroyama (1860)
Chinese: Koxinga’s Rebellion (1662)
Indians. Panipat (1526) from AoE 2
Italy: Pavia (but using Italian cities)
Malta: The Siege of Malta (1565) (already featured in the Blood campaign)

It’s positively maddening just how much untapped potential there is in Aoe3.
Where’s an eccentric billionaire who’s into the age of discovery when you need them, eh?
