:arrow_forward: ISSUE EXPERIENCED

  • The French translation of “Unicorne mortars” (Russian deck card tier IV) into “Mortiers anti-Licornes” (literally “Anti-Unicorn Mortars”) does not make any sense . Because “Licorne” is actually the French name of this Russian “canon/howitzer” the card refers to.

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Access Russian deck in the French game version (ingame or through home city deck builder)

:arrow_forward: EXPECTED RESULT

  • The best translation should be “Mortiers Licornes” in French
  • Btw, English is not my first language, but should the English name of this card be spelled “Unicorn Mortars” instead of “Unicorne Mortars” ?

ahah, yes the french translation of the game is sometimes bad, I’d say.

Some translation make little sense.

“belliciste” for “skirmisher” Belliciste translates as warmonger. Better translation could be : “tirailleur”, “escarmoucheur”. I think they didn’t want to translate skirmisher by “tirailleur” because this word also refers to auxiliary african troops.
I also don’t like “roi des voleurs” (king of thiefs) for robber baron, it moves away from the english meaning (roi des voleurs does not mean anything, while robber baron refers to a real phenomenom).

Bonjour @Mischkov, thank you for your report. We’re now tracking this :fr: issue.
