Units under attack command all go for the same unit

Sorry if my English is bad.)

Today I had a game that seemed like a win after losing several games but something happened to me that frustrated me a lot.

I sent my elephants and archers to attack some units at the top of the screen and I knew that some elephants would die by the castle but instead of the elephants deploying to attack the units equally they all went after the pikeman who was fleeing under the castle… WHY? All the elephants died chasing him and even though I tried to click with the mouse on the other side of the screen to make the other enemy units deploy, they went back to chasing the pikemen under the castle…Not 1 elephant BUT ALL OF THEM IN A ROW.

This game has very serious problems with pathfinding and following commands in general.
For example, if a pack of rams was sent to attack a target, but not all of them have room to be placed there, then some or even all of them will simply go in the opposite direction.
Also the cancer of this game is flocking. Units think not about how to execute your order, but how to first gather in a large group, a convenient target for onager.
Most likely, you have encountered something like this. Although I don’t understand why you didn’t order the elephants to attack the castle specifically.

Because there were halberdiers under the castle to defend it from the elephants and my archers could not get through to help them, I wanted to attack a cavalry that was coming to look for my trebuchets. But instead of deploying and sacrificing some elephants that went after the halberdiers as expected and that they attacked the cavalry in front of them, they went after the pikemen, each and every one, ignoring the cavalry and leaving the siege exposed.
