UPDATE- DEVS PLEASE READ! Fast pan on controller not working at all

  • Game Version:

  • Build Number:

  • Platform: Steam

  • Operating System: Linux

Issue:

UPDATE- After testing, the bug is specifically confined to when you have the controller settings set to “hold” versus “press”. If you have the settings on “press”, you can move the cursor after pressing RB by pressing Y, but this functionality does not work if you are holding down RB and try to press Y. This is incredibly annoying as time consuming, as pressing B to cancel radials already is bugged and often takes a few presses. Please fix this bug so you can use the Y move functionality with the hold menu option!

After the latest update, it is impossible to fast pan or quickly move across the map in any way on a controller. This has effectively killed any competitive balance on a controller, as there is no way to quickly move across the map and you easte 10’s of seconds at a time slowly panning across the entire map and back again.

It is my understanding that you attempted to implement a new easy navigation on controller when pressing “RB” but it DOES NOT WORK. You can’t order units across the map, you can’t fast pan even when holding “Y”, all you can do is set a flair on a certain point on a map.

It is literally unplayable competitively on a controller, the only fix is greatly increasing the base speed on a controller which makes micro and fine unit control impossible. PLEASE REVERT THE CHANGE OR FIX THE BUG, I and 1000’s of controller users would love to be able to play competitively again.

Trigger Event:

Start of game

Repro Steps:

Literally open the game and try to move anywhere quickly with a controller

Same exact issue, fast pan was fine before and now RB is practically a useless button.

To confirm for anyone reading that can help, this problem applies to the Xbox Series X/S version on controller, as well.

Honestly, it WAS fine before. I’m not that good at this kind of game, so this is kind of unplayable for me at the moment. It’s quite an important feature to have issues like this.
