Not sure which forum this would go into since it’s not about modding the game as much as it’s about requesting the developers to provide an answer if they have one.
Currently, you can invite people to your lobbies by copying the game id (aoe2de://xxxxxxxx) which works as a URI. Opening that link effectively runs the game (if not running) and connects you to that specific lobby.
Is there a way to post the game id which allows people to join as spectators rather than players? So for example, aoe2despec://xxxxxxxx would connect anyone who clicked the URI to the lobby and add them as spectators.
If not, could this be added in?
