Viking tweak - mid game nerf, late game buff

yeah. that would be like…the shortest invasion ever.

Aztecs: invade europe.

Onestly, this seems a completely random change…

It’s messy, hard to understand for new players, and all it does is unbalance a balanced civ…

Free WB and HC is a two times bonus, a strong one for sure, but if you nerf it you risk to make vikings underpowered, because they don’t have anything else on land.

As for their archers and infantry, there is nothing wrong with having just generic units (like arbs) tons of civs work that way and vikings arbs perfectly do the job.

As for gunpowder, vikings never used it even slightly, and don’t need the units, so I don’t see the reason for adding HC or BBC.

No one here plays CK2? :frowning:

In game, they have almost fully upgradeable Elite Cannon Galleons.

CG are unfortunately necessary, since there isn’t any other anti-building ship, and that wasn’t an option for top tier water civ.

Vikings are fine on land. Italians, Portuguese and Vikings could use a nerf on water (or ‘all’ other civs should get a water bonus too to make it more balanced).

Not all civs should have the same strength throughout a game and its fine that Vikings have a powerful first 30-40 minutes but falls off as the game goes on.

Same with Incas being good in Feudal and then regular (though their way of being good is not particularly well designed)

Thye were nerfed on water.

I agree 100%. Longboats could garrison up to 10 and increase attack strength during battle.

Neither longboats nor berserks need to be any stronger
