Basil The Bulgar Slayer, Selim the Grim, Alexander Nevsky, and some Hungarian King, i dont know enough about the to say but I don’t want Matthias Corvinus simple cause Magyar dont have gunpowder which the Black army used a lot of. Though it would en funny to get letters from Vlad throughout the campaign about killing turks
They will most likely go for Matthias Corvinus since he was also king of Croatia and Bohemia…although the Croats would have Tomislav as campaign since he fought against the Bulgarians of Simeon the Great in 927 and also had a Balkan campaign in the 10th century with Teutons in the northwest (neutral/sometimes allies), Franks and Italians in the southwest (neutral/sometimes allies), Magyars in the north (enemies), Byzantines (allies) in the southeast and Bulgarians (enemies) in the east…
So? They can have gunpowder in the campaign like some civs had certain techs and units in scenarios.
tbh with Poles and Bohemians already existing in the game as it makes Corvinus the lowest hanging fruit option I’d rather have Matthias Corvinus than anything since others will be a boring cav archer and paladin spam without having some other options. Besides, Matthias Corvinus can have the first mission playing as John Hunyadi’s siege of Belgrade and then the journey of Matthias including conquering Vienna so there’s potential with such campaign.
I would also prefer Matthias Corvinus for the Magyar campaign, mostly because the Bohemians (with gunpowder) can show up in the campaign and the Bohemians don’t show up that often.
Yes, that’s true… you can start with Matthias Corvinus fighting alongside his father Hunyadi in 1456 against the Ottomans in Belgrade and then go through all of Matthias Corvinus’s military campaigns against the Ottomans (1456-1464), then helping Dracula and the Wallachians (1476-1484) and finally fighting against the HRE of Frederick V (1459-1471) and (1473-1488) in between…
I suppose that works the best to cause if gives you a mission to interact with the new Vlach civ
Sure, the idea would be that in the third mission he’d ally with the Vlacs to fight against the Turks…
I’d like to see Dracula become the Vlachs’ campaign, alongside the Rus (renamed from the Slavs), Turks, and Magyars each recieving their own campaigns. That would be decent for a DLC.
Honestly, I don’t think giving the Magyars the hand cannon is a big deal. Maybe lose the halberd or fast fire ship in exchange.
Just feel that any civ that already has strong archers wouldn’t be affected much balance-wise by getting hand cannon, since they already deal with infantry without much trouble (except for huskarls).
Yes, it would be like a DLC with 1.5 new civs (Vlacs plus Slavic rework and 3 new campaigns; it’s an good option if you want to make a quick DLC)…
