Yesterday, for the first time, Watering Hole was extremely unfair advantage towards one side.
In this case, the enemy was completely closed on one end and open in the middle and on the side.
My end was completely open on all ends.
I think this rarely but did happen in the original game as well.
Screenshot and reference towards the minimap:
If this was a game with money on the line, I don’t think the players would be so thrilled.
Watering Hole is usually fair so this is a rare occassion though.
where was the advantage? it’s a 2 way street, if his main base has only 1 entrance, cutting him off would also be much easier. Also, don’t forget that with this map setup, he may have a false sense of security, as a dock and a transport ship would have been able to send your entire army into his undefended base, bypassing his forward base completely.
As you can see, Red’s bottom side was completely closed off.
Blue was completely open.
Normally with Watering Hole, both should have either all open or equally open.
In this case, Red was at an advantage due to 1 side closed while Blue was open everywhere.
I understand the arguement of ships, though this is never used in higher level games except in late game or Deathmatch.
