What custom campaigns and scenarios would you like to see from the community?

One thing I loved with the original game, and I´m sure many of you did as well, were the custom made campaigns made by other aoe-lovers. There was, and in some sense still is, a thriving community of content creators among us fans. Some of us loved created scenarios and campaigns of our own, and others just loved playing what others had created. This way the game gained houndreds of hours of additional gameplay.

In the original AoE, RoR and their demos we have played through many different historical settings, from the earliest civilizations to the fall of the mighty roman empire.

What custom made-campaigns and scenarios did you love in the original game, and what do you hope to see in the Definitive Edition?

I loved the cutsom made-campaigns from Andrea Rosa and I hope he return and create some new for the DE, but I guess it is not very likely :frowning:

Agreed, loved those as well. There was a campaign about the etruscans I enjoyed as well, cant for the life of me remember what it was called or who made it though.

I really like campaigns with limited number of units that you have to control/micro really well. You have to capture buildings from enemies and gain resources through fighting to replenish them in order to progress and win (Or you are limited to just a few vills). A really good example is Ragnar’s Raids on the aoe2 steam workshop (my absolute favorite campaign, across both the community there and dev-created campaigns)

@VainWarlord Etruscans! Sounds like a interesting campaign!

Me too. I love scenarios where you have to apply trial and error. Must people who have played aoe enough to make it through the vanilla campaigns probably needs to be challanged further. Building a base, booming to iron and spamming heliopolis gets old kinda fast once you´ve done it enough.
I find that there is a greater sense of accomplishment and pride once a really tricky and well designed scenario has kicked your ■■■ a couple of times, and you finally beat it.
