What DLCs would I personally like to see in the future

Period hopping with late Roman generals/leaders sounds like the smart approach, though, if MS/FE wants to compromise and not give players a total downer of a campaign.

I made survey some time ago and the anthology campaign didn’t get much votes, as opposed to individual characters campaigns.

If ever, what Roman character would you want a campaign for?

poll Maybe I’m a hypocrite but maybe after the temperature has come down regarding Return of Rome, we can discuss which character could be the character for a Roman campaign with a poll, because I don’t remember a poll

I would love a Majorian campaign, but I’d like a full Aetius campaign over Majorian and Aetius stories being told in a rush to fit them both in a 6 scenarios campaign

If Celts get a proper campaign, either William Wallace or Robert Bruce, I think it will be on the occasion for a British isles DLC. Let’s admit, nostalgia aside, Celts is kind of a joke for a civ, inspired by Braveheart etc.
So I’d say split Celts into Picts and Scots plus split Britons into Welsh and English for that DLC. Other options for the same DLC could be Irish, Saxons and Normans, specially the first two are very missing.
With Picts in game you can keep the pagan woad raider as their UU and give them a campaign (from 300 to 900 AD circa) while redesigning current Celts to be Scots with a new UU and remake of willy.
Then add Welsh to the Edward campaign which is now an English (better would be Norman probably) campaign and add a Welsh campaign to choose between 400 and 1200. English / Normans would need another UU of course. If longshanks goes to Normans add a proper British campaign set later, like the war of the roses (basedteuton made a good one about that).
In Hastings historical battle you could FINALLY play with the correct civ meaning Normans against the correct civ meaning Saxons. Then give Saxons their campaign set before Hastings and Irish too.
Here you are, a DLC actually worth 15 bucks!

Northern Sea DLC: Danes, English, Goidelic and Swedes civs + rework of three old civs: Britons, Celts (rename into Gaelic) and Vikings (rename into Norwegians).

Saxons civ would definitely be a better fit for a DLC focused on splitting the Teutons umbrella civ. This DLC could include the following civs: Allemanians, Bavarians, Franconians and Saxons. Teutons civ get Crusader Knight as their Unique Unit.

Because there is nobody else. Japan is pretty isolated from everyone else, and anybody even remotely close to them is already in the game.

The Siamese weren’t even part of the same cultural sphere as the Japanese, and were further away from them culture-wise than the Jurchens, Khitans, and Tanguts.

It’s best to introduce Japanese and Korean or Chinese campaigns in an East Asian DLC featuring those three civs I just mentioned, and the Siamese could be introduced in another Southeast Asian themed DLC along with the Mons and the Chams.

Most additions actually do fit a theme especially recent ones. Siamese and Japanese were quite distinct from one another and I don’t see how the Siamese civ and the Japanese campaigns could be added in the same DLC.

Some people here seem to still hold the stereotype that all Asians look the same, nope that couldn’t be further from the truth.

I dont mrean that they are close, at all. I mean that you need to add the Kapanese campaign somewhere and the Chinese and Korean campaigns I imagine would be in the two other DLC in East Asia

All Indian and SEA civs have campaigns already so East Asia is the closest unexplored region for a new SEA DLC

East Asian campaigns can be introduced in an East Asian DLC, why they have to be introduced in a SEA DLC? And the potential new SEA civs (Siamese, Chams, Mons, Javanese, etc.) need their own campaigns as well.

I doubt we will get three East Asian DLCs and I dou t we will get more than one canpaign for an existing civ in each Asian DLC

All the new civs will get their own campaign ofc, I mean in addition of rather than replacing the other

I doubt that the devs would want to introduce so many campaigns in one DLC, at most they would only introduce campaigns for the new civs.

Here’s what I propose, instead of introducing Chinese, Korean, or Japanese campaigns in an unrelated SEA DLC, there should be a DLC or patch where there aren’t any new civs added instead it focuses on adding new campaigns for existing civs which don’t have them yet.

The best excuse to add campaigns worldwide is to do another Conquerors style expansion. Seriously the forst expansion added FIVE civs and only the fan mod added as many the rest have been barren. Just give us 5 civs around yhe world and add a bunch of new campaings
