What do you think about ROR civ themes?

All Return of Rome Civilisation Themes! - YouTube

I wasn’t even expecting it (since we won’t have unique units or Wonders…) so I was surprised to find AOE1 civs will have a theme (I don’t know if AOE:DE features this).

I F’in loved it. Most of them bring that epic, mysterious mood I associate with Ancient times, especially civs like Sumerians, Babylonians and Phoenicians.

Also, the Yamato one sounds like the intro for some Metallica song from the first albums lol

DEVS ANY SOLUTIONS?

I just want aoe2 as it currently is but i want to play aoe1 ror

Vitalis or whoever did these themes is amazing.

That is great that they have done this. I particularly like the Greek, Persian, Sumerian, and Roman themes.

These are indeed new for this DLC  I especially love the Hitties and Yamato ones.

Not a dev, but… just get the DLC and see the AoE 2 Romans as a “What if…?” scenario, much like the good old Mayan vs Korean battle over the lone star state you were able to play back in 2000 when Conquerors launched :stuck_out_tongue:

A very nice addition, I wonder how much of antique music had been recorded to know what it sounds like

This music is both used in Civ for the Greeks, and Farya Faraji played and sang it

So yes we know what ancient greek music sounded like, some greek writers also described it in great detail, but I assume not all civs are as well documented.

I really like them, and honestly it was my biggest hope for this DLC.

Some I find are a bit quiet, but most are really good. Egyptians, Hatti, Assyrians & Persians are absolute standouts. And the Lac Viet one is a party!
