It would be amazing if Battle Royale mode returned to Age of Empires II, bringing a fresh and dynamic twist to the classic gameplay. The survival-based mechanics and ever-shrinking map created intense, fast-paced matches that felt completely different from standard games. It encouraged creative strategies and quick decision-making, making every match unpredictable and exciting. Bringing it back would give both veteran players and newcomers a fun new way to experience the game. What are you think?
what do you mean “bring back”? i’m pretty certain the game mode is still in the game, or has it been removed?
It still exists, but almost nothing has happened with it since years. I think of one the last changes was in 2023 when the Castle in the BR Fall of Rome map got the Roman skin. The five maps are still the initial batch AFAIK.
Those BR maps make use of unit skins otherwise unseen in official Skirmish maps, and are loosely related to campaigns, there’s potential for more.
I’m not sure what actions OP expects from the devs. maybe a ranked queue for it?
It won’t come anytime, Battle Royale hype lasted just like 3 months nothing more, then queue time became too long that the mode was removed from quickplay, what makes you think it will be even used as ranked?
