What if Samurai could dodge a projectile?

What if the Japanese’s Samurai unit could dodge one projectile every 5 seconds? (Just like the Shrivamsha Rider, but only one dodge) In a one vs one fight, a hand cannoneer will shoot at the approaching Samurai but he will dodge the projectile, close the distance, and engage in melee. The Samurai does bonus damage vs unique units, this will help fight ranged unique units to a small degree.

I hear some people say Samurai are weak, but how much stronger would this make the unit if they could dodge one projectile every 5 seconds?

It can work, but I always wanted they went back with the melee/range mechanic that they wanted with the Samurai. Maybe their attack will drop from 10/12 (Elite) to 5/6 (Elite) and deal less bonus damage too to balance that out in Range mode. Something like +4/+5 (Elite). As for range, just 4 range in both non and elite version.

No. They just need one thing and one thing only - Take less damage from UU.

Could work but not the right kind of change since its not a “unique” ability. Substantial advantage over militia line should happen in some other way.
