What is left to complete the world in aoe3?

No. We have plenty of Europe and all major players are now represented in one way or another.

Do you know who is completely unrepresented despite being the most powerful state on Earth at multiple points in the AOE3 setting? Persia.

Honestly the only possible addition to Europe after this DLC could be more revs like Greece, Norway and Bulgaria in updates rather than another European DLC.

Personally hoping this DLC would add maps such as Sicily, Gibraltar with northern Morocco (both Euro and Berber natives on the map) and Fjords in Norway since Greenland was already hinted and Iceland would be finally added for sure after being leaked from the files a long time ago…Already excited for this DLC

Switzerland, Serbia and Greece, okay no  …you have the post-Golden Horde khanates, the other federal civilizations, the Mapuche and Tupi, etc. etc…:man_shrugging:

You don’t need to go as far as Morocco, you have the Omanis across the Strait of Hormuz…

Yes, I would make two DLCs: Burma and Siam on one hand, and Korea and Vietnam on the other (to encourage competitive play in AoE 3, focusing more on South Korea than Vietnam, and for historical continuity within the saga)…

Yes, in WoL the Polynesians advance in age through canoe journeys; the longer the journey, the greater the bonus. The Town Center is called a “Pa,” which is a large village that increases its population through upgrades, similar to a Chinese village…

Yes, the fact that such a classic civilization from the saga as Persia is not yet in AoE 3 is a crime against humanity…

Speaking of the theme of this kind of map (strait/channel/gulf), an English Channel map could be a great Idea with the southern most part of England with Normandy and the Lowlands parts, Also the Gulf of Suez with Egypt and Arabia.

You just wanna see penguins belly sliding. Admit it.

Sounds interesting. Exploration of Antarctica is within the timeframe (though it took some more decades until someone actually reached the South Pole). There would be enough options for huntables, fishing/whaling and (animal) treasure guardians. The new fishing holes would work as berry bush substitutes.
What about wood, trade routes, and native settlements, though?

You could do shipwrecks as wood sources and costal trade routes, and no natives.

But the brilliance is it doesn’t have to have any of that. Antarctic maps wouldn’t be meant to be competitive. We don’t have maps with the challenge of no trade slots at all, not do we have one that doesn’t have any wood sources at all. Having to strategically balance you shipments and changing your builds to ensure that you enough wood would be a different type of game.

It should be the Self-Strengthening Movement instead. The Boxer Rebellion was fundamentally destructive in nature; historically, it even attacked Qing regular troops. The Self-Strengthening Movement occupies a position in Chinese history comparable to the Meiji Restoration in Japan, and the emergence of modernized military forces during that period also aligns with what we need.

The Boxer Rebellion also only took place from 1899 to 1901.

It’s a revolt right? I guess from a gameplay’s perspective you can have either Boxer Rebellion or Taiping Rebellion in an earlier time. For westernization you got Self-Strengthening movement and the Xinhai Revolution. All of them are iconic events in Chinese history that the devs can use to create unique gameplay.

Too bad they never implemented my idea of the shipwrecks… we did do that over at age of pirates tho on our Iceland map. Oh, what could have been…

海盗时代的很多地图细节设计都让我十分惊叹

Brazil , Morocco , Zulu , Crimean Khanate , Austria , Persia , Siam , Korea , Mayans , Colombia , Argentina , Paraguay.

我认为开发者应该为所有水上商路的贸易站点加入港口、商埠的简易设施,正如海盗时代中所做的那样。才能更清晰地体现贸易战作为港口,而非陆上商路站点的角色。

I’d have loved to have seen Shipwrecks (both water and coast) as a resource spot. I mean wrecking was a whole industry in AoE3’s span.

Yes, or else a card that says “Ci Xi Reforms” that updates the Qinq skins to those from the late 19th century…

Yes, I resigned myself years ago to the fact that they wouldn’t include new campaigns in the DLCs…that’s why I’m modifying the original campaigns with the DLC civs to make them more historically accurate (Blood campaign with Maltese, Ice campaign with British and Haudenosaunee; and Steel and the TWC campaigns with the United States civ) and creating new campaigns to fill that gap)…

Bukhara and Khiva khanates possibly.

Wouldn’t it be more reasonable to just have a “Uzbeks” civ?
