What would you like added to the Return of Rome DLC?

That’s what it should’ve been from the very beginning. AoE1 is outdated; AoE2 is king.

What about the people who DOES like AoE1?

They have AoE1: DE. It’s not updated, but I have a feeling they won’t mind.

Return of Rome is an AoE2 DLC, so some changes should be made to make it more accessible to the people who will actually buy the DLC.

Aren’t those the Vietnamites?

Id play a more AoE2 type flavor with an ancient spin.

Heck not much needs to change. Just a Uu at the academy, maybe a ram siege weapon, and… Artifacts and Ruins generating resources?

Also make the dead end Age 2/3 units less dead end. I want my end game axe cleaver, light cavalry and foot archery

Actually, no. The hardcore AoE1 fans in Vietnam are sticking with the original CD version, and never bought either DE or RoR. So I’d say trying to cater to them is a lost cause.

Saying the Scythians “invented” chariot combat is about as laughably inaccurate as Kings and Generals claiming the Scythians invented shooting arrows while on horseback. Especially considering they only make an appearance in the 9th century BCE a good two thousand years AFTER the Sinstasha culture invented Chariot warfare.

I like the idea of an Elite Camel Rider upgrade

Yes, it’s already in the scenario editor, so you could add it at any time…

I agree with everything…

Or just Chukonus…

In my case palintonons and obviously siege towers…

Well it was the first installment… you can’t ask for that much either…

It would be strange to add special Crossbow that were only used in very limited numbers in a game that doesn’t even have normal Crossbows, which here very wide spread and used a lot more in China itself all though it’s history.
Also they weren’t used by Shang China yet.

Yes, it is understood… but the Chukonus would be a reference to Qin/Han/Jin/Sui China (since they would be created in the Iron Age)…

I don’t get your point. We all knew that crossplat wasn’t going to be added. Also, we know that what we see in the forums is not representarive of the general community, so if you see a push for crossplay here, it doesn’t mean there’s general push for it.

Also, I don’t know why you brought jesus here

You can easily argue crossbow access for Greeks and Macedonians (gastraphetes), Carthage (generic bellybows) and Romans (Cheiroballistra) as well as Koreans and definitely Lac Viet with the stories of the ancient magic Crossbow.

Then make it a powerful academy unit for Shang, Choson, Lac Viet, Greeks, Romans, Macedonians and Carthagians and give Shang Chu Ko Nu.

I wouldn’t be against that but all of these civs except Shang and Viet are starved for a reason to make late game archery ranges.

If Academy was the UU haven then maybe a Zhuge Nu rapid fire version can go there.

Sure Greece, Carthage and Macedon now can really capitalize on the bonuses they have for “academy units” but those poor Greek Archery ranges.

A slow power unit to keep pace with Greek and Macedonian Centurions while probably being a short range but very strong and fast launching missile attacker would shake meta.

Will get more people playing online if they expand on this expansion

I would like the Akkadians to be a playable civilization. I loved the Sargon campaign but it felt weird being represented by the Sumerians. Also I would add regional units like four-wheeled war chariots pulled by donkeys for the Mesopotamian civs since the current chariots are more Egyptian-looking
