What would you like to see in 2026?

Please add dark mode to Mod Editor and please make it full access instead of partial, I can’t mod the state tree :frowning:

Please add extensive guide on how to use render in the editor, I have yet to figure out what it does or how to make it do it’s thing, also same with scenario tab in editor, also one last thing would be that you make it so you can test stuff in editor so you don’t have to boot up entire game and make a lobby and go test manually.

Also please let manors generate stone I am on my knees begging please. I bought DLC because I thought they would work like Feitoria, my dream has been sitting parked on the way side and has been for while since I bought that DLC.

Also please make more CIVS! More civs = better!
Also if possible make it value oriented or make a steam bundle that gives a significan’t discount if you buy many DLC/civs. But obviously try to not make it copy paste, civs should still feel distinct from each other because if they don’t it will make a DLC containing 5 civ feel like it only contained 3, if you get what I am trying to say.

Also please make custom lobbies more customizable, like if we use “random” we should be able to select what it can roll instead of it being able to roll everything, for example if I don’t want to play against a specific AI then I can make it unable to roll the civs I don’t want it to pick, or for example let’s say I have a couple civs I want to play but don’t want to decide but also can’t use random civ because it might not roll any of them….. If you implement the random change I suggested here then please make it so that if you hower over the icon it will display what is disabled or enabled or both and make it flash/pulse yellow 3 times if someone modifies it so all players are on board with the idea/setup.

Also please make land ranked, so basically ranked that has no water maps in it.
Also please make Lancaster Castle have emplacements so you can buy emplacements because currently all it has is some dinky arrows :frowning: , I don’t mind if you make the emplacements for that landmark 2x cost if we also get to garrison units in it.

ALSO FINALLY PLEASE MAKE AN EXTENSIVE MODDING GUIDE, I looked at the current onboarding material and it wasn’t super indepth and/or I was still left with many many questions, maybe even more than I started with.

I pray that AoE 4 AE (& AoE 2 DE) become THE GAME game to be playing instead of some niche.

ALSO PLEASE I BEG ON MY KNEES I NEEEEEED AUTO SCOUT PLEASE I NEED IT :sob:

There, those good berserkers… will they be able to build military buildings like their counterparts from AoMR/AoEO?

I wish they would not cuz that way they gonna end pretty hard to balance

Nah, at most they’d be strong at the beginning, but then very weak in the end…

Maybe, Maybe not
We wil see!

Obviously, CK3 is a nice game!

Hi everyone, I hope you’re all doing well  User Byakko discovered this: if you go to the official Age of Empires server, click on the news section, and turn off image previews, this is what appears. There is no city called Cordoba in China; it only exists in regions of the Spanish Empire :eyes:

What if it was a mistake and it slipped in unintentionally?.. Is a Reconquista campaign coming alongside the Spanish and the Vikings?.. Two civilizations with their respective campaigns would be great…

Hi MatM1996 I hope you’re doing well. During the Spanish Empire, there were several cities named Córdoba in different countries (Argentina, Colombia, Mexico). The only Córdoba near China is in the Philippines, but that city was founded in 1863—well after the events of the new DLC. Córdova (Filipinas) - Wikipedia, la enciclopedia libre

Yes, but given the game’s time period, I doubt it refers to any viceroyal city of the Spanish Empire, but rather to Cordoba in Spain.

It could be that whoever uploaded the image misspelled the name when saving it on their PC with another file they were working on (a future campaign?) and when they uploaded it to Discord it appeared with that name… or a misspelling of a Chinese city or terminology, and were hyping for nothing.

Future campaign?

In fact, what could be a hint would be for a future campaign (2027) in Spain, presumably the Reconquista, and for that we would obviously need two civilizations: Spain and the Caliphate of Cordoba or “Almohads” (1121-1269) or Al-Andalus, depending on how they want to portray the Islamic civilizations of Spain.

I’d rather not get my hopes up about Spain by the end of the year, because there’s no real evidence to support that: If it’s for a future campaign, it might not be released this year.

Two Main Civs to the end of the year

In any case, they said there would be at least two main civilizations for the final DLC of the year. If one is Viking, the other could be Spain, Vietnam, Poland, Genoa, Venice, Hungary, Korea, Scotland, etc.

A little request for Al-Andalus civs

Finally, adding to the list of requests: I would ask that in the future, any of the Islamic kingdoms of Spain, such as the Caliphate of Cordoba, Almoravids, Almohads, Al-Andalus, etc., not be Abbasid variants, if that means forcing them all to use the same wonder (“The Prayer Hall of Uqba”). The ideal wonder for them would be the Mosque of Cordoba.

Yes, I knew something…

Yes, that’s what I was thinking… that they should include a Reconquista campaign with Spanish, and as enemies and also a playable civilization the Emirate/Caliphate of Cordoba or simply Cordoba (756-1031) and you add Berber units to Cordoba (in AoE 3 you have several Berber units) and then later you can add a Moroccan civilization representing the Almoravids, Almohads, Granada, etc…

Yes, that would be great…

I have a feeling they’ll end up making simple civ variants, but I hope I’m wrong…

The Reconquista at least…

Yes, I was excited about seeing Cyprus as a playable civilization, but in reality it was the Templars…

Zhu xi and china needs a house size tax drop building.

Better would be a GAME THAT WORKS WELL!
Now we have Multiplayer issues

Glad they already tracked this problem

Yes, Spanish fits in just as well as it does in AoE 2… you could even include it in a Reconquista campaign: Pelayo (722 in Dark Age), then El Cid (1072-1099 in Feudal and Castle Age), then Las Navas de Tolosa (1212 in Castle Age) and finally the Catholic Monarchs (1469-1492 in Imperial Age):

Prologue (722):

  1. The Battle of Covadonga (722): Spanish vs. Berbers

Act 1: The Poem of the Cid (1072-1099)

  1. The Battle of Golpejera (1072): Spanish vs. Spanish (same as in Age of Empires 2 with the mythic duel in the start of the scenario)

  2. The Battle of Almenar (1082): Spanish vs. Spanish and French (same as in Age of Empires 2)

  3. The Defense of Valencia (1099): Spanish vs. Berbers (same as in Age of Empires 2)

Act 2: The Cross as a Sword (1195-1212):

  1. The Battle of Alarcos (1195): Spanish vs. Berbers

  2. Las Navas de Tolosa (1212): Spanish vs. Berbers

Act 3: The Catholic Monarchs (1476-1492):

  1. The Battle of Toro (1476): Spanish vs. Portuguese (the same scenario as Age of Empires II, but from the opposite perspective)

  2. The Capture of Granada (1492): Spanish vs. Berbers

Nice Campaign Concept for the game
I think is very possible that the actual DLC would bring a Campaign, like Sultans Ascend one

Yes, we need more campaigns faster…
