Please fix replays… there’s a scan slider but we can’t actually use it, we need to be able to move the slider to a particular time in the game in some cases. 2x, 4x, 8x fast forward and reverse would be nice but MVP would be being able to use the slider.
Also, it benefits players to see the player perspective in the replay, by that I mean where they are looking what they are clicking, how they are moving units etc. so the whole player base can learn and develop each other. Competitive player base will benefit from this.
Also, please give the ability to ban or prefer maps in multiplayer.
1: Add a Play/Pause animation in the editor like in the original as well as forward/backwards frame-by-frame.

Above all, for the moment the game is good but I’d really like a league system (bronze up to grandmaster, for example) for multiplayer with rewards at the end of each season.
I would like to see in the AOM Retold portraits of the minor gods and major gods similar to those in the classic AOM, expressive and personalized. Not images generated 50% by AI, which takes the soul out of the drawing, with arms coming out of the neck like in Freyja, or the bowstring of Skadi that doesn’t fit, or the arms of Apollo being different sizes, with the arm holding the bow being smaller than the right arm. These AI-generated images cause a certain repulsion to the eyes.
I would really like the attacks to have a greater sense of ‘weight’. The Minotaur’s axe looks like it’s made of Styrofoam. The attack of the hoplites is similar to the attack of the spearmen from the Egyptian civilization in the classic AOM, without any weight. They also removed the shield strike that the hoplite used to perform. I would like this differentiation to have a more coherent sense of impact. The spear looks like it’s made of cardboard.
Get rid of universal market system. I shouldn’t be penalized with crappy market prices because I played so well against my opponent that they capped out the sell market that gets them back in the game, only to flip the script and when I’m in need of the market I get stuck selling 100 res for only 24 gold. This universal market makes no sense.
Using the market is not considered a bad thing that you only do when you are failing.
Many pros build exchanging resources into their strategy.
Also it has a core feature of the series for over 20 years that the market prices are shared. It adds another level of strategy to the game where you have to work around your enemies need for resources.
Player outplays opponent to force market abuse (that’s what it’s for)
Opponent now gains advantage and forces player to market abuse (that’s what its for)
But low and behold, player don’t get to utilize market because of capped out prices and doesn’t get to regain advantage without plummeting entire res bank for 100 gold or vice versa.
It’s not strategic, you’re punished for outplaying your opponent that capitalized on normal prices when they needed it, but when you need it it’s not available. If a player uses the market because they got outplayed, the market price going down is THEIR punishment, not the other way around.
It’s not abuse. It’s a legit game mechanic.
Yes it’s a mechanic that can allow you to come back after being in a disadvantageous position but so are other mechanics like the Town Centres ability to attack.
In the end it’s not that much different from a Gold Mine. If an enemy uses up a Mine it’s gone for you too.
Your logic is that players should get punished for using the market.
That is your opinion. You could have the opinion that players should get punished for hunting or for fishing. Those opinions are equally valid. But you won’t find many people that agree with that.
Your enemy used a game mechanic they way it is intended to be used against you. You can’t expect the game to be designed around your strategies. You have to build your strategies around the game mechanics. This is how video games and any games in general work.
Arena of the Gods should be reworked as StarCraft II Commander CO OP mode missions with better level design, leveling, progression, customizations, and more blessings!
Please bring back the original hotkeys from Age of Mythology!!! Or at least an option to make those hotkeys the default. Over 15 years with those hotkeys, and now the smart ones decide to change them.
I’ll also add: please enable a “View Lock” type option to enable us to see where a player was looking hands-off. Potentially useful for casters at some times, or for reviewing our games.
I feel like there should really be some achievements for finishing campains on titan and ludicrous difficulties and even rewards.
it would be awesome if unique troops and titans are added for events that can be added every now and then to keep things fresh.
I really with there was better way to connect to people who play the game online. for example for the arena games that was recently added there should have been a player finder for teaming up with other players.
a decent AI needs to take over if a player leaves mid game. that way entire team is not guaranteed to lose when one member disconnects.
I agree! More achievements all around! For completing at higher difficulty would be really cool. Also more ones like Preparation for doing specific things during the campaign missions.
Unique skins like AoE2 does through events would be pretty neat. But personally I don’t want to see new actual functionality through events.
Yes! A general chat like EE had so people can organise who wants to join a particular custom lobby would be so valuable.
This is a really tough one. Every Age game struggles with it. It would be unfair if that AI ends up better than the player who left. I think something like this could be good as an option for lobbies and should be in quick play, but the ranked ladder probably shouldn’t do it.
