What would you like to see in Myth Retold?

Please make the oceans/ water bodies at least twice as deep. They are currently too swallow and don’t look great. Water myth units are constantly clipping/ swimming through the bottom of the floor. Make ships sit higher in the water too. Their wake particle effect clips through the ship, and this with waves clipping through make ships look like they are sinking.

I’ve thinking the same. But i don’t think it could happen

Let console players have an option to have cross platform on for Xbox/ps5 specifically without computer cross-play on; separate from the cross input on/off settings.

An interesting hindu civi concept.

Thanks so much for opening this discussion! I’m genuinely excited for Age of Mythology Retold and would love to share a suggestion that I believe could bring something both fresh and epic to the game.

Just as the team has expanded into Asian mythologies (first China, then Japan), I truly hope that when the time comes to explore Mesoamerican cultures (Aztec and Maya, which share some mythological threads), the next logical DLC could shine a light on the Inca civilization.

The Inca Empire was one of the most unique and powerful in history — it unified coastal, Andean, and even Amazonian cultures under a single vision. Their mythology is rich, profound, and deeply spiritual, full of creator gods, cosmic order, and sacred landscapes. Introducing the Inca would not only diversify the pantheon but also offer players a completely new aesthetic and gameplay style.

Also, Peru is currently gaining a lot of global attention — from cultural icons like Machu Picchu, to the recent election of the Pope, and a rising global interest in Andean heritage — making it the perfect time to introduce this incredible mythology.

I just kindly ask: please do it with historical and cultural care. If done right, it could become one of the most memorable additions to the AoM universe.

Thanks again for your amazing work and for listening to the community!

Just played a couple of game on Archipelago and Mediterranean Maps, and I’ve just noticed that you’ve added ambient wolf howl sounds to these maps. THEY ARE REALLY ANNOYING! Please either reduced the frequency of the sound playing (once every minute would be fine), or remove the all together (considering these maps don’t even spawn wolves as an animal unit I’m pretty sure). But playing a game were a ghost wolf is howling every 10 seconds is really irritating  Thanks :upside_down_face:

I would love to see a Celtic civ…
With the following myth units (does not have to be these specific abilities):

  1. Banshee (its scream ability stuns all enemies inside a specific radius)
  2. Leprechaun (does not fight but gathers gold at record speed and when it dies, it has an animation that looks like its spilling gold coins)
  3. Kelpie (on land it can not fight but has big view range but in water it is great against all ships but with decreased view range)
  4. Dullahan (after it dies, it revives itself once to half of its max health and it swings a flail)
  5. Ellén Trechend (3 headed dragon that is spawned through a god power in the last age, it can fly and its special attack is that it breathes a dark evil looking flame that does DOT)
  6. Balor of the evil eye (titan unit whos ability is that it shoots a beam of destruction)
  7. The Oilliphéist (sea creature, ability would be that it causes whirlpools that cause enemy sea creatures and ships to get stuck for a little while)
  8. Glas Gaibhnenn (a green spotted cow that generates a steady trickle of food while it is alive)
  9. Failinis (it has a passive ability that lures nearby wild animals. it can defend itself against your enemy)

I’ve wanted a West African pantheon for the loooooooooooongest time. I know it won’t happen, since the timeline doesn’t make sense with how the game’s story works, but anything similar would be just as fine.

Who sais it won’t?
The Civs cover a timespan between 4000 BCE all the way to 1000 CE, with some equipment (armors, shields) or details in the buildings (roof detailing) being as modern as the 1600s.
Atlantis arguably taking place in 11000 BCE.

Yes, just as many of us think that the AoE 4 DLC at the end of the year is going to be a Mesoamerican DLC with Aztecs, Incas, Spaniards, and maybe Vikings, the next AoE DLCs next year will be Aztecs and Incas…

We could still see the Yorubas based in the Ife Empire (1000-500 BC/900 AD)…

Yes, AoM goes from 3000 BC (Egyptians) to 1500 AD (Japanese, probably Aztecs and Incas next year)…

Who says they’re not doing Koreans next, after Japanese?
(JK of course, but think about it)

For a future community events, could I float the idea of adding different versions of Major God statues that you can cycle through (like the portraits) that offer different poses/ representations on your Town Centres and Temples? It would also be great if there were more variety in the Portraits and Statues. For example, offering a Gaia portrait/ statue that it is closer to what she looked like in The Titans; or an Oranos option that is more primordial; or a Fuxi option that looks closer to his original depiction in ToD. Thanks

I think it would be nice to be able to reset your ranked and even custom games stats completely. Maybe after a certain number of matches so it can’t be constantly reset. But especially after big patches like the most recent one where the game changed significantly.

You meant like on player demand? Or as in a seasonal ranked setting where all are reset?

Nice use of UI Art and assets of the game
Personally I would like to have a UX/UI overhaul.
I think the base is good, but a lot of things are out of place, like text, hierarchy, icon/dialogs placement, and so on and so for!

Don’t know whether anyone else has mentioned this, but I kind of feel that the single most powerful unit in the game not having a ranged attack is a missed opportunity. It would be cool if the Titans had a ranged attack as well as their regular melee ones. Alternatively, they could grab flying units and throw them towards enemy units or slam them into the ground for a shockwave attack against all nearby enemy units.

Either, though divisions or seasons would be sick

Nice suggestion
100 percent of agreement!

Would lile to see the Greek, Egyptian, Atlantean and Chinese also getting an extra major god like the Norse civ got.

Some suggestions:

For greeks - add Demeter
For eqyptians - add Amun
For Atlantean - add Ophion
