Revisiting this topic (a bit early I know) since we already know what we are getting in 2026. I’ve updated the poll and added other commonly mentioned requests. Sorry If I missed some.
I voted for Mesopotamia (Babylonia) and other pantheon.
I think a Maori pantheon would be cool. Maybe they can do something with consuming life force / mana and/or doing the haka ritual can generate favor?
The next pantheon should be a pantheon that directly relates to the existing pantheons, like the Greek or the Egyptian, because otherwise there will only be 12 campaigns facing the same pantheon over and over again, and that is boring.
Regarding the next DLC’s fourth god, I think an Egyptian god should be chosen because I believe it is necessary. Currently, the Egyptians are very gold-dependent; the new Egyptian god should change the Egyptians’ gold dependency, similar to what happens with Thor or Amaterasu.
That’s why I voted for Celts, they should be the next DLC as they’re the lowest hanging fruit ever since Sandy wanted them to be added with Aztecs more two decades ago + all the endless civ crafting and fanmade mods.
Feels like it should happen at some point…
To me this sounds like something Mesopotamian, as you could realistically get both Egyptians and Greeks into that campaign

I wish it was Sobek as a major god but since it was added in replacement of Hathor… But Geb or Nout would be very possible as major gods.

Tengri would be we interesting because AoMR doesn’t have a really cavalry focused pantheon yet. They could have mounted villagers and the ability to move buildings.
Zoroastrians/Persians are certainly have a huge potential for interesting mythology and of course also cool units and buildings.
I did vote for Mesopotamian and Celtic pantheon though because I like those 2 choices more.
Celts are close to home to me since I grew up in a place with Celtic archaeological sides around. They settled almost all of Western, Central Europe and all the way to Anatolia so they cover a lot of ground and fill a gab between Greeks and Norse geographically and culturally.
Mesopotamians have a very interesting and complex mythology to build upon. It would be awesome to have heroes like Gilgamesh in AoMR.
Is Tengriism really feasible for the major/minor god format though? My impression is that it’s more Animist and doesn’t really have gods in the traditional polytheistic sense. I’d love to see it at some point if its feasible.
But yeah, Mesopotamian and Slavic are my top 2, with Celtic in a close third (Persians is 5th for me as well, but I’d like to see something sub-saharan African as well.
I voted for Mesopotamian and Celtic too. Cause i would really like to see those two pantheons and i think they also make the most sense.
Regarding major god packs after Demeter: I open for both a 4h major god for Egypt and Atlanteans - for Atlanteans i really hope we see Nyx for Egypt i am open for several options and i like the idea of a different style in gold generation like BornWinter52864 posted i think thats a good idea.
After Mesopotamian and Celtic i would personally like to see either Slavic or an African Pantheon even before Persian. I think an african pantheon really could stand out but Slavic has vampires and werewol- wait we already get werewolves now xD
Celtic I’d want split between Irish and Welsh if only so we can get Arthurian characters as heroes.
An expansion pass for a 4th Egyptian major god and a Mesopotamian civ would pair nicely with each other. The Mesopotamian campaign could even include the Egyptians and get to show off the new major god.
I’d really like to at least see Indians and Celts before content for this game ends, but I think a Mesopotamian civ would be the next obvious pick and looks like the poll results so far are strongly leaning that way.
I voted for Celts and 4th Egyptian Major God.
Celts would be my favorite pick for pantheons, even above Aztecs. But don’t take me wrong, I’m still excited for Aztecs.
Eventually, I’d want them all.
Celts, Aztecs, Mesopotamians, vedic Indians, Polynesians, Yoruba, and perhaps, once we have about 12 pantheons, also Romans. (For sure not before we have 8)
I’d add Slavs to your list and maybe Persians but other than that seems good. IMO I do want Romans, but I think they should be about the last addition, similar to what you’re saying.

For me, it’s going to be Celts and Slavs for 2027 (since next year it’s Aztecs and then Incas)…then in 2028 Babylonians or Persians and Indians…and in between packs of Egyptian, Atlantean, Chinese and Japanese gods…

For me, they’ll be like the Celts from Age of Empires Online or Zero AD… Arthurian heroes might appear, but somewhere in the Mythic Age…
Classical Age: Cúchulainn (like the Irish Achilles) and Manannan (a water mage who sails without sails) (1000-0 BC)
Heroic Age: Vercingetorix (a melee warrior who trains wolves) and Boudica (a lancer who heals like a Valkyrie) (0 BC-500 CE)
Mythic Age: Arthur (boosts human units) and Merlin (boosts mythic units) (500-1000 CE)
Honestly I wouldn’t be suprised if its Yoruba next; they seem to share themes between AOE2 and AOM; E. Asia for both in 2025 and Americas for both in 2026, and I wouldn’t be suprised if they hit Africa next for both in 2027. Though I suppose it could also be a Balkans DLC and something else Northern Europe for AOE2 and then Celts and Slavs for AOM.
Also what are you basing us getting Incas next off of? Just a hunch or has there been some sort of leak?
