I once saw some mobile “game” add using AOE2 footage. Surprise surprise that “game” actually looked nothing like it.

The displayed pop indeed doesn’t match what’s on screen. As well as resources from the start of the game.

Yup, I remember mobile games using AoE 2 in their ads, even with the infamous graphic glitch that happened on unpatched versions on XP.

I remember that glitch. Pretty nostalgic, actually. I used to play AoC on Windows XP until my family upgraded in 2015 and I could no longer play it. That prompted me to download Steam with the sole purpose of getting HD, and that started me down the AoE2 journey I’m on today.
