When do you think we'll hear an update on the next Civ?

When do you think is the most likely (realistic) timeframe for us to hear anything about the next DLC Civ or have an unveiling? A few weeks from now? A few months? Maybe a year?

My money’s on a few months, because they’re planning to release the second DLC this year, probably at the end of the year.

I bet for a christmas release, but I hope in the meantime we get some DLC god like Freyr but for another pantheon.

I don’t think they will make any new content before the second expansion, as it would not be part of the Premium edition and I doubt that would sit well with many.

Is this speculation, or they have public announced this as a timeline?

I think speculation but facts are:

  • if they want to put out premium edition content first they can’t make a giant gap between them
  • They still can release the next civ/rest of the premium edition content next year but the giant gap would have to filled with something and other stuff isn’t included in the premium edition
  • They also can release other content between Chinese and the next civ but they still have to remember ppl payed first and foremost for the new civ

I personally wouldn’t mind if we would get Freyr like new major gods in between and get the new civ whenever they feel ready.

This isn’t speculation, another member of the forum, I think it’s @Skadidesu has often said that when they sell premium packs like this they have 1 year to deliver it, it’s in Steam’s terms and conditions, and if they can’t deliver it in time then they have to refund players. I don’t know if that’s true, but apparently that’s what was said.

Those Steam rules have been imposed after AoMR was released, so it only applies to future Season Passes.
The new rules only allows 3 month delay else people will be able to refund it.

AoMR isn’t bound to those rules but it’s still bad to delay content people already paid for. But they also already did that with Immortal Pillars.

I don’t mind a delay. I’d rather they not rush and get it right.
