Franks - Mounted Crossbowman instead Axe Thrower
Koreans - Chongtong or Geomcha instead War Wagon
Celts - Only if it’s splitted into Scotts and Irish, Woad Raider could be either regional or second UU for Scotts.
Hindustanis - Ghulam turned into South Asian/Indian regional replacement for Spearman line, and Flail Elephant the new unique unit for Hindustanis.
Inca - Since Slinger was turned into regional for South American civs, Inca could have a exclusive upgrade fopr the Slinger called Imperial Slinger. Maybe also a new model for the current regional slinger as well.
Ethiopians - Shotel Warrior could be perfect a regional for african civs. Maybe the Gascenya from AoE3 could fit better.
Maya - Plumed Archer could be perfect a regional archer line for mesoamerican civs. Holcan Javalineer from AoE3 (skirmisher instead spearman though) could be a new unique unit for Maya.
Not everything needs to become regional man. I feel like you have similar topics to these running as well
I can’t see Shotel working for Malians or making Franks a cav archer civ

Just make Mounted xbow new Euro regional unit. Poles, French, Germans all used xbow on horseback. Throwing Axeman is too iconic to change

Everything is becoming regional these days, from the DLCs themes, certain buildings and unit skins to the civs focus, sinergy and aesthetics. Face the facts, we like it or not, even European and Ensemble civs will have regional units, line replacements and reworks.
Those were suggestions only, but of course, more or less, some could change with the time.

None of those images really help your argument. Who would trade out the TEUTONIC knight as a UU?
Another issue is that crossbows were used in China Korea and Vietnam was more effectively than in Europe most of the time
And it would be a shame to see no civs with Parthian tactics get to take advantage of the fact that a crossbow archer probably has more armor
Unless you regionalize a Pavise tech
Not my creation, that’s why I’ve cited the original creator but since europeans civs don’t have regional, ideas are more than welcome. Balancing, singery and historic accurate could be next.
That’s the thing about balance. Most of those me civs ARE balanced. So the problems the devs will probably do to themselves is just make things worse

Don’t give me more ideas…
Not unique very generic.
Its an iron age unit why should it be regional?
Ghulam is an islamic unit its fine as it is.
Fantasy unit.
Maybe but do they need such a unit?
Its more eithopian than anywhere else, besides what role can it possibly fill?
Its a CA than a archer so would need to be drastically changed.
Again what role does this fill?

I would replace only one unit:
Malians - Gbeto

at this point it’s not even your idea to mint as yours
I wouldn’t change any of them.
These civs are balanced around having these units, and the others are balanced around lacking them. If you were to give the Ghulam to other civs, you would not only significantly alter the balance of those specific civs but also upset the balance of others, especially the archer civs.
Basically, giving even one civ a single new unit affects every other civ because they will all have to deal with it too. AoE2 civs aren’t meant to be too asymmetrical either. AoE3 made the civs too asymmetrical, and it didn’t end up well for a reason.

Then that means more people things similar things about European regionals and/or new unique units for existing civs.
You misunderstand… as someone who has been coming up with ideas for civs and units for decades when Aok heaven was the only outlet to prove my brilliance (as any confident person would call themself) no, I’ve never been able to capitalize on my brilliance and creativity.
And if you don’t believe I’ve been at it for a long time: here’s a random snippet and yes back then people HATED the idea of more civs
Yes that is 2004 And I’m still working my ASS off
My first post in this forum was about a American DLC called “Warchief of the Andes”, 4 years ago.
https://forums.ageofempires.com/t/age-of-empires-ii-definitive-edition-warchiefs-of-the-andes-dlc-concept-v2
This year, some ideas were released in The Last Chieftains.
Of couse, no one will ever credited or considered to build a DLC, we are not Forgotten Empires, but we can try it anyways.
Still don’t understand the rise. It was just a little code… but back on topic
asimetricas un mal resultado? yo lo dudo
I would 100% replace the War wagon.

WTF, I can´t upload an image
“undefined method ‘’ for nil”
no. this is a massive balance change, and for what? why should the franks suddenly be good at cav archers?
Koreans already have Chongtong (bombard cannons, hand cannonneers, fire lancers) and Geomcha (rocket cart). this proposal is nonsensical. it’s like asking that Teutons get “ritter”, when they already have knights.
what? ghulam is a fast anti-archer unit, speaman is a slow anti-cav unit. are we playing the same game?
what would this “flail elephant” do?
