Who decided for new recordings

I mean, look at the mods.
Those who have the most downloads are for replacing the voice lines and unit sounds.
Who decided to make new records?
Especially in Chinese, Athena’s voice actor reads test material without passion, like the TOEIC test, not for a mission dialogue.
And the team gave up the original translation of mission names and dialogues for no reason.

I think most of the gamers of this game are finding the original gameplay and the new UI, texture, etc. Not for replacing the better voices with disaster recordings.
I have to match the current subtitles and texts to the originals one by one because of the stupid translation and the nonsensical context.

The reason behind the new recording is relatively simple:
They want to make more content with the same characters but don’t want the characters to have different voices between the new and old content.

If they would have kept the original voices then all the characters would suddenly sound different in every new scenario or campaign they will make.
Even if using the same voice actors because peoples voices change within 20 years and so does the hardware that is used for recording.

They certainly should have done a better job though.
In every language the new voices sound worse then the old ones.

I agree that you said that the new content and old content should have the same voice actor.
However, the quality is so poor. I cannot understand the meaning.
They didn’t put enough effort on it.

German voices have missing lines (maybe that was fixed with the patch, I didn’t check) the characters adress each other informally inappropriately, and the spoken lines don’t match the subtitles (where they are speaking formally, as would be appropriate) or they randomly go back and forth between formal and informal.
Arkantos sounds young and insecure, not the seasoned officer he was in the original.
Cheiron had a wise sounding voice in the original, calm and composed. Now he sounds like he’s just reading his text into a mic.
Gargarensis sounded scary in the original. Now he sounds like just a dude.
