Why didn't they give the Romans the Roman Catholic priest skin?

like, that’s literally where the religion and dress comes from.

It would feel weird to have a renaissance skin for a civ knocked out in the 400s. Much more than retaining the generic monk skin.

Indeed, why didn’t they give a civilisation that ended in the 5th century a monk wearing a hat from, at the earliest, the 13th century? A real mystery.

I think the real question is why do several civs have a monk that looks like a cardinal?

I’d have kept it only for the Spanish after researching Inquisition.

And don’t mention it in the patch notes so that nobody expects it.

(Big brain moment)

Have it have no visual effect at first, and only reveal the new skin with the “nobody expects the spanish inquisition” sound when you first convert an enemy unit with it.

This is why Romans is a bad civ.

Why did they not introduce a Bishop skin or a reskin for Pope Leo. He still looks like a monk.

Regarding Pope Leo, what’s the basis of his icon in DE? It doesn’t resemble the campaign artwork at all.

He looks very odd. Like a pterosaur or something…

That’s Pope Leo I after activating his ability (available with future update). No wonder Attila had to withdraw.

Papal States and Roman empire are two different things

We just need a proper icon and pope hero skin.

Im pretty sure they dont plan to add any new hero skins now.

Mahazona didn’t say they are. He mentioned Italians.

They said, quote

Maybe you got another idea because they also said

So they were saying that Papal States should be a different civ from Italians. Both different things from the (historical)Romans
