As the title says. Indians were mainly Hindu. Mosques are of Islam, more suited for the Ottomans, or the other Arabic Civs. Indians should have the Hindu temple, or the Mandir, Devasthanam, Pura, Kshetram, Ambalam, or Kovil. Kindly make them more attuned to their native traditions.
There’s only one Indian civ right now (not counting the variants) and that is the Delhi Sultanate, which was an Islamic Empire, but you’re right that Hindu civs need to be added and such civs might be the ones that finally turns the War Elephant unit into a sharable unit as it was historically used by multiple civs, including the ones on the list below. Here’s some concepts (including ones I made) and they’re useful examples:

Was the Tughlaq Dynasty not Indian? Were the Indians Hindu before the Delhi Sultanate and Tughlaq Dynasty? I’m having trouble finding exact dates, they are all over the place.
Tughlaq Dynasty is a Dynasty on the Delhi Sultanate.

It’s because the Delhi Sultanate (1206–1526) isn’t representing Hindus empires, but rather an “Islamic Sultanate” that dominated northern India for much of the Middle Ages.
Delhi Sultanate
Actually, the Delhi Sultanate in the game doesn’t originate in India, but with the Ghorid Dynasty (879) in Persia, from the mountainous region of Ghor. Although there were many Persian sultanates there, the Ghor region was difficult to access, which maintained its independence for a long time, until the Ghaznavids invaded. After converting to Islam, they became independent and even defeated the Ghaznavids, and began making their own incursions into India.
The most famous of the Ghurids, Muhammad Ghori (1173–1206), defeated Pritivraj and then sacked Delhi, making it his new capital. Although technically his was the first sultanate in Delhi, the dynasty’s name was only adopted by his successor, Qutb ud-Din Aibak, who founded the sultanate in 1206.

Many of the inhabitants of the Delhi Sultanate were native Hindus who had converted to Islam. In fact, in the game you can see the difference in ethnicity reflected in the uni models (Persian and Hindu).
About Hindu Religious building
The Delhi Sultanate did not coexist with the native religions of India, but instead tried to convert the entire population to Islam, destroying temples and statues, and condemning the worship of Hindu gods.
This policy of looting Hindu temples by Muslims existed even during the Saffaridas, then was carried out by the Ghaznavids, and then the Guridas, continuing in the Delhi Sultanate.

Awesome information. Thank you so much for that. I thought the Tughlaq Dynasty was more a kin to the ancient Hindu Indians, as seen in the movie Indiana Jones: Temple of Doom. Those Indians were very unique, and showcased the cultural depth of Hinduism. It would be nice to have a full fledged Indian civ. So the Islamist nations are basically like the Mongols were to the Russians, or Hitler was to the Jews.
