If adding hundreds of units with diffrent confusing names but they are actually the same unit is not gimmck, I don’t know what gimmick is. Maybe I should call it meanless or redundent design? If you think this is fine, then I am tired to explain
.
When I was playing AoE2 or RoN I always play full Random. All I have to do is to quickly check the tech tree and then I can play the game casually, I don’t need to remember a trivial thing like Camels have ship armor or whatever. But in AoE3, If I don’t have a proper deck or mistake runners for normal infantry then I am dead. In AoE2 every civ has only 1~2 unique unit and all civs share the same tech tree. How come it will be more gimmck then AoE3? (Again I am not saying AoE3 is bad or AoE3 should be like AoE4 and I am a casual player! ) Or you just don’t play multiplayer? I always thought what you said was completely sophistry, but I was too lazy to refute them one by one. It is really tiring to explain in English. ![]()
I can hardly imagine anyone will play a single player game forever (play with AI? come on…
). It’s multiplayer make a game alive, espeically RTS. Lots of people only play RTS for its mutiplayer. If you don’t agree with such a obvious thing, then I am nothing to say…Rise of Nations is my favorite RTS but I don’t touch it anymore, just because its multiplayer is dead. I guess there are still dedicated modders making new mod, but it is meanless for me if it is difficult to find a game to play.
