Most players have Win 7, Win 8, Win 8.1
You’re right that Win 7 is still the most popular platform, but less so in western countries. Not to mention its popularity is rapidly decreasing in favor of Win 10. Give it a year and Win 10 will be by far the most windows OS.
Practically nobody uses Windows 8, though. You’re alone in that
It’s kinda interesting that even the Steam stats say that most of the players are still using Windows 7. Seems like there is still some aversion to the Windows 10
