I’d love to see some more thematic Explorers / Hero units for the majority of civs with a bit more of a historical focus.
Looking at them currently, we can see
Campaign fictional Scenario skins - Morgan Black and Amelia for example.
Campaign/Scenario Historical Important Person skins - Francis Drake for example.
Historically-apt ‘standard’ skins - Boyar, Dutch Prince, Tulacingo Officer, Çelebi etc (i.e the ones that fit in that don’t particular reference a specific person)
Historically-anachronistic skins - Astronaut and Roman Centurion for example.
Oddball skins - Mila Bear for example
With those in mind (and I’d say the last two points are my least fav!), I would really like to see more historical characters (or standard) skins from the eras I’d love to see certain themed ‘seasons’ for Hero unit skins (and more importantly packs!).
For example Seasonal packs could include Polar Explorers, Explorers of Africa, Scientists, Adventurers, Military Leaders, etc.
I’d love to spend money on small packs of Heros skins that mesh thematically with the historical background of AOE3.
Hero skins should also change the skins of the units they train sometime. It’s very strange to have a Chinese pirate lady training a group of monk disciples and being followed by them. When the Chinese hero is the pirate lady, Disciples can be Chinese pirate men/women. When the Spanish hero is a matador, he can train War Bulls instead of War Dogs.
I agree (although not quite sure with War Bulls - purely on the readibility front rather than the crazyness ).
It should be Hero + linked ability/unit. For the Chinese, Zheng Yi Sao (the pirate) should have South Sea Pirates instead of disciples. The whole discipline thing even translates - units are getting pressganged or rather ‘Shanghaied’ into service
USA should have a Thomas Alva Edison skin. I know that his reputation have plumeted since he was expossed for all the Tesla stealing stuff, but I think he had some original inventions and, more important, he personified the zeitgeist of the late XIX century in USA. Bold entempreneurship with borderline ilegal activities based on the idea of progress.
France could have Pasteur as the french equivalent of Ada Lovelace, a great inventor and scientis. He could attack with some kind of preasurised steam gun (pasteurization).
Russia having a mad scientist Mendeleev skin would be nice.
Not exactly a scientis but a Hans Chrysten Andersen skin with a convert guardian skill would be so sweet.
A Chilche skin for the Inca would be a reasonable ask. The unit voicelines for him already exist in the game files. Other campaign characters could receive the same treatment as well.
