Can somebody make a mod so we can get new farms? Or how about a setting to turn down the farm graphics. The buildings and terrain in our bases looks good, but the farms just stick out so much. They are too dark and cluttered.
If you removed half the vegetation it would look so much better for readability purposes. I really hope somebody mods this at the very least. Why do the berry bushes look so good, yet the farms look like this?
As a temporary work-around there is a game setting to turn down the detail on foliage.
That screenshot above is with foliage disabled.
Looks pretty good for me r.e. what intensive farmland tends to look like. Here in the UK you’ll get plenty of grain plants that get much, much taller.
This is the original design, right (I nicked it from the community wiki):

I can certainly see what you mean. Maybe there’ll be a “classic” mod for it at some point (even if user-made).
Would be nice if they change them to the original farm or if somebody mods it.
Notice how much better the clarity is with the original farms. The bright green vegetation that isn’t all clumped together. There simply isn’t enough dirt in between the vegetation in Retold farms. The original farms look good.
I understand preference (especially as it was changed), but not the clarity argument. Both are valid examples of a piece of farmland (could even double as a modern allotment plot in both cases).
Are there some biomes it isn’t as clear on? That isn’t also the case prior to Retold?
It’s easier to see the villagers on the farms in the original game. Also, when armies are fighting on the farms in Retold it’s often hard to see what’s going on. You can see in the screenshot from Retold how busy it looks. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the farms instead of the rest of the base. It’s jarring. Visually its just off.
