Zero info for three months

I don’t know how to edit text on to the photos, but

Forgotten Empires (the mom), AOE2 (the favored child), AOM (the one that is actually fine), AOE3 (the skeleton)

The community may be doing well, but the devs seem to be slow with information for AoE3.

The PR department should be all fired. Hopefully there isn’t one but if it exists, they are completely zero on all aspects.

The funny thing is the communication for AoEIV isn’t that much better than ours.

WE didn’t know what to do with this game from the get-go as seen by its atrocious pre-release marketing. These days they’ve just given up completely. They’ll post a screenshot out of the blue and people are then psychologically conditioned to believe it’s DLC hints. Awesome job WE. Then you have the most awkward DLC reveal. Outside of 2DE, the community outreach is just plain bad.

It’s not the dev’s job to communicate with the playerbase but the marketing team.

I get the feeling WE is dysfunctional and it has only gotten worse now that Relic is going through upheaval galore. I’m sure there is pressure not to screw up AoMRs release as they’ve done with every other game.

Maybe because it happened in the previous dlc?

I don’t think so, maybe next year…

Yes, I agree…they do it well with the DLCs, but the marketing of the entire saga is fatal the way they do it…

It was a joke only

Yes, I’m not saying it couldn’t happen, but they already said that the Baltic DLC will be the only one that will receive AoE 3 this year (logical because they are developing AoM Retold and they also have to rebalance all the Chinese DLC)…

Didn’t they say late/fall 2024 for the AoE3 DLC?
Apparently after the AoMR release which is sometime in 2024.

Honestly they have been just as quiet about AoE2

We didn’t learn anything about Return of Rome and Victors & Vanquished until those were about to release.

I don’t even know what people expect, it’s Microsoft, the only time Microsoft wasn’t a trash publisher was in the OG Xbox and Xbox 360 era, ever since the only things that Microsoft accomplished was getting destroyed by Sony due to their own incompetence of managing their IPs and studios. Mismanagement is MS trademark, lol. Hell, they even close down a studio that made a decent game that sold well, but muh gamepass sales and they axe it. I can’t believe there were/are people dumb enough to cheer Microsoft for buying Bethesda and Activision in hopes they’re going to fix them, they’re only going to kill most of the IPs to maybe remaster them in 20 years.

I think it is highly likely that such a department barely exists anymore, or has been dysfunctional for months.

Reminds me of the very toxic relationship I had with my first gf.

The Xbox Showcase is coming up on Sunday. I assume it will include more info on AoM Retold, but there could be a small chance for some new AoE3 news too.

I’d probably adopt the thought process that we won’t see anything of AoE3. Then if we do, that will be a pleasant surprice.

I have to say aoe3 still has room to improve, such as nerfing OP civs such as USA and Ottomans, nerfing some OP revolts, fixing a few bugs such as attack moves…other than that, this game is a good playable state, it is playable without any further changes. Good thing is they are giving us 2 more civs this year so that’s the bonus content i would say i am not expecting or begging for more.

It has been a few years since DE. During these years they introduced too much DE stuff, that is dramatically different from the original flavour of aoe3. It has made the game so different, like a different game. I don’t want to trend to continue on and ruin such a good classic RTS game. So i hope they stop releasing new DLCs after this year’s polish and danish one.

I have the same. I do not attach any hopes or expectations to this event (not counting AoM of course).

It’s enough that the this year event for the AoE series was disappointing…

To be honest, even with aoe2 communication is terrible.

I really don’t understand their marketing strategy. They don’t promote their products and when they do, they usually do it quite poorly (see the latest “campaign DLC” for example).

And in a very cringe way.

Also to keep in mind that xbox recently sacked several game studios, some of them preforming quite well.
