I think it’s disgusting to force an unsolicited popup ad immediately upon opening the game which cannot be cancelled. It’s annoying enough to show it once. But every time the game is opened with no way to say ok i’ve read this leave me alone is just bad mannered.

Not sure if disgusting, but definitely annoying. Disgusting it would be if you kept getting the popup until buying their latest DLC.

Or are you referencing to a specific in-game News / Announcement?

Yes, surely as a employee of the company, YOU call it an in-game news announcement. I don’t have a problem with the news/announcements section on the top-right side of the home page where you have to click on a thing and it brings up a popup because you chose to click on it.
What I have a problem with is when one of those “news announcements” comes in the form of a forced popup window as soon as you open the game that you have to close out of before you can PLAY the game.
If you’re being genuinely honest about it, this is an advertisement popup (granted, it’s self-advertisement for your own games and it would be far worse if it was for other products that other companies paid you to insert into your game, but still, it’s an ad nonetheless. And it’s an unnecessary forced popup window in a full price video game.
Just so you know, this pop up only appeared once for me. I don’t think it’s intentional for it to appear for you every time you open the game. It must be a bug and that’s why he asked for the print, to fix it.

just wanted to report back that i’ve opened the game twice today without the automatic popup. i’ll post back again if it starts happening again. i definitely saw it a lot more than once, though.

As far as I am aware, the “Learn what’s happening across the franchise in 2025” News should only have appeared as a popup the very first time you load into the game after this News was added.
Once you dismiss that initial popup, it shouldn’t come up again and can only be accessed if you open it via the News section in top right section of the Play tab or click over into the Community Tab and click on it from the Rotating News (left side), or in Featured (right side).
If for some reason you are still encountering that exact same popup, feel free to update me, and I’ll get the team to investigate.

Again with this. I finished a game yesterday and queued for another. An ad for pre-order of DLC popped up in front of my queue. When I opened the game today, the same ad for pre-order DLC popped up in front of the main menu, without me clicking anything. These are definitely NOT appearing just once and never again.

closed the game for a couple hours. opened it back up and I was greeted by a popup about ladder matches (seems like something that should pop up when you try to queue for ladder, but meh, whatever, not that worried about it). but when i closed that, i was met AGAIN (3rd time now) with the pre order ad. If it’s supposed to show once only, it is definitely broken.
and as if by punnishment, the next 2 times i’ve opened the game, now there are TWO popup ads I have to close before I can play…
