A custom background

Hello aoe warriors,

I’m trying to create a custome background (mod) with a specific image. I tried different approaches but I make some mistakes.
First, I tried through the “local” folder in AoE. I created a .dds file from some website on the internet. I edited the info.json file. I “copied” everything that folders in “subscribed” have. It did not work…
Then I tried via the aoe mod page. I uploaded the same files. It did not work either.
There is a mistake but I am unable to identify it.
Anyone better in IT than me around? :slight_smile:

Hey @GamerX, I ran into the same problem a few years back, and I found these steps that should accomplish what you are attempting to do:
Custom Background in AoE II DE – Don Dinardoni – Age of Empires II

The author of the article lays out what to do fairly well, so you should be able to follow it successfully to its conclusion.
