In the original game, the guard models for Lancer and Ruyter are implemented (which can be seen in their consulate versions), but the in-game models are not changed with the guard upgrade.
Also Portuguese besterios technology is equivalent to a royal guard upgrade for the crossbowmen, but the model is not changed either with the upgrade, and we also have a guard crossbowman model for the consulate version.
Hope this will be fixed in the DE.
