A professional should not take so long to win a non-professional

The two professionals decided to play for more than 1 hour and finish it, for the wonder, all of that in a final; you deserve applause

Professionals do have the skills for all types of strategy. They might excell at one or two strategies while still being better than >99% of all players at strategies that do not suit their playstyle. Also they naturally will always go for the enemies weak spot within a certain time frame. If that is the case after 30 seconds they will go for it just like after 60 minutes. So if you don’t see them going for it early on it simply means that the risk reward ratio is very bad.

The thing is that professionals do not need to win games fast but when you rarely see them winning fast against very inferior opponents it indicates that there is a lack of promising strategies during the early and mid game. Especially when it comes to rush, one TC for certain civs on AoE4 is called an all in strategy. Usually an all in is a strategy that has no follow up which either means halting villager production completely or even using villagers as meat grinders during attack. But both of those other rush strategies almost fall entirely flat on AoE4 because the defenders advantage is that big.

Alright, I think it’s time to close this thread now as to me it seems as if the OP just picks matches from AoE 4’s top players that take too long for his taste.
