So with the new water changes on the way, dock will garrison 5 or 10 fishing ships, shoot arrow and have a new technology fishing lines, which shows dev’s intention in making better usage of fishing ship and fish traps.
However. if you ever play the game, you will understand the frustration on building massive fishing traps. The reccommended way is to build the trap right next to the dock, otherwise fishing ships will bump into/block each other frequently and significantly lower the efficiency. The problem is that, building a fish trap next to dock, with fishing ship right on the trap requires a (alt+) click to the edge, holding shift, fishing trap hotkey, a click the spot, relase of shit, which is tedious and error prone and unstable, because you might garrison ur ship into dock instead, or the ship loation is not ideal.
So to resolve this issue, my proposal is simple,
Fix the fishing ship ON (the center of) the fish trap, instead of it being anywhree in or around the trap.
Right now the ship always go to the edge of the trap if the trap is not built directly under the ship’s reach. So if we make this change, it will make building fish traps as easy as building farms, which I believe suits better to the whole trend and picture of the game.
Further benefits can be that if fishing ship collision size is small enough, the gap between two adjacent fishing ships working on traps will allow ships to pass through. Thus, making multiple layers of fish traps will be feasible. Although that’s less a concern to many people.
