A Unit under conversion should not be killed

It’s bad. When an unit is being converted, the owner should not be able to kill it. Kills the fun

You need knowing precisely which unit is being converted otherwise you’ll kill units you wouldn’t have lost by conversion, and unless there is only one single unit in range of the monk you’d need an educated guess (alright he’ll probably get the mangonel… wait I have 3 mangonels, which one is it ?)

A non-issue, assuming you can even react in time. Running away or trying to kill the monk is more common

In addition to what DukeOfLorrain said, if you couldn’t delete units under conversion, that would be a significant buff to monks. I think it could work but you’d have to nerf monks in another way.

It would also make the game more complicated to add a rule about when you can delete things, and this game is already way too complicated.

Although, if you couldn’t delete then it would take away the need for conversion time to be randomized, so, there’s a potential plus.

Deleting the unit is also a questionable move as the monk can immediately start converting another one, without rest

Lol. But if it gets converted, it kills the fun for the guy who spent resources on producing it.

Username checks out.

Yea I 100% agree with this. I have mentioned this before in another thread. Also the same with buildings. If you can’t kill the monk doing the conversion or get out of range you shouldn’t be able to kill the unit. Its cheating the converter of a conversion. Conversions are already very rare so cheating your way out of them seems cheap. It also means we almost never see people converting buildings and never seeing things like Xlotol warriors. It would also create a deeper layer of strategy where you need to think about where you’re putting your buildings if you can’t defend them. It also would make the Heresy tech more important and make it more meaningful that certain civs don’t get it.

You do realise the game shows you which unit is getting converters with a massive arrow on top of it right?

So apparently it’s a setting I didn’t enable.

Hopefully after the update to visuals. Monk use increases. It is fun seeing it in action.

Must be a mod that got added to the base game, like ‘small trees’ and the tower range indicators? I’ve never noticed a massive arrow atop one of my units being converted(?). I don’t see anything in the game options that would allow me to do this either. I actually wouldn’t want that feature added anyways. If it’s a mod, allowing things like that in Ranked play ruin it for players who don’t add it

Maybe Capture Age has it, though

I just tested and indeed, no such thing appears in normal games.

Really??? This is so weird. I don’t have any mods of that kind and its definitely there. I will double check later and see, I am definitely not halucinating.

CaptureAge shows arrow pointers on units being converted I believe, and there is a mod to add pointers over top of monks, but there’s no mod or setting in-game that can show which units are actually being targeted by a monk.

Wait are you saying I am getting my capture age replays mixed up with my actual gameplay experience in my memory? lol

Having such information ingame would be too strong.
