Issue:
The new Abbasid technology ‘City Planning’ only affects buildings within influence of the House of Wisdom.
On the left we see a 3x3 stack of Barracks inside the influence of the House of Wisdom. The middle building correctly shows increased health and shortened spearman production time to 09s
On the Right we see another 3x3 stack of Barracks identical to the first except these are placed outside of the House of Wisdom influence. Here the middle building still has the default 1500 hp and 15s production time for spearmen, meaning it does not benefit from the City Planning tech.
Despite that, the City Planning buff still shows on these Barracks, and the tooltip makes no mention of requiring the buildings be within your House of Wisdom influence to benefit from this tech. For these reasons I would expect the Barracks on the right to be affected just the same as those on the left.
If this behaviour is actually intended, I would instead expect the tooltip to be updated to reflect this requirement, and the UI to hide the City Planning buff from buildings that are unaffected.
Trigger Event:
No particular event as it’s a constant effect. Identical buildings are placed after researching City Planning, and buildings within House of Wisdom influence receive the benefits of this tech while those outside the influence radius do not.
Repro Steps:
Although the screenshots show a game with max resources, no opponent, and 3x3 grids, I have also been able to consistently reproduce this in regular skirmishes through these steps:
- Start a game as the Abbasid Dynasty
- Build House of Wisdom and upgrade with Administration Wing
- Research City Planning
- Build a two Barracks side by side within the House of Wisdom radius
- Check any Barracks in this formation and confirm that it benefits from the increased health and work rate provided by City Planning.
- Build an identical formation of Barracks outside the House of Wisdom radius.
- Check any Barracks in this formation and note that it does not benefit from the increased health and work rate provided by City Planning.
- Also note that these Barracks still show the City Planning buff.
- (Optional) Place houses to extend the House of Influence radius to the Barracks of step 5.
- Check these Barracks again and note that they now do receive the benefits of City Planning.
‘Barracks’ can be replaced with any other building, and the two buildings side by side can be replaced with any other formation so long as the building you check has at least one identical building adjacent to itself.
